Acrim paused, tilting her head and giving him a quizzical look.
âA what now?â
In her experience, something that bright and colorful had a 50/50 chance of being tasty. Yeah, she had been wrong before, horribly wrong at times, but that wasnât stopping her from being really optimistic about the good half of those chances. Plus, there was a tree here, though it was an odd place for a tree - couldâve just been weird-looking fruit, for all she knew. Though, given, now that she thought of it fruit didnât often come in the shape of people.
Decoration, huh? But for what?
She gave the rope of shiny stuff tossed towards her a curious and mildly confused look for a moment as it hit the floor, then picked it up.
ââŠOkay, what do I do with it?â she asked. âAnd whatâs going on? Somebody important visiting?â
ââUh, yeah, this dude right here.ââ Peter said with a playful little roll of his eyes, holding up the Santa ornament. But as he looked at Acrim and the way she glanced from decoration to decoration, he realised he was going to have a lot of explaining to do. ââYouâve never heard of Santa? Or Christmas? Ever?ââ
He shook his head in disbelief. Heâd come across so many weird ass traditions out in the surrounding galaxy without ever setting foot on the planets they originated from, yet somehow Earth traditions just didnât spread beyond the stars.Â
Unbelievable.
ââItâs a holiday! So this,ââ He waved the Santa, ââthis goes on the tree Iâm setting up over there. Weâre gonna cover it in all these baubles and tinsel and lights. Then you put presents underneath.ââ
"Ooooh."
Huh, interesting. Well, Acrim was always up for learning about new holidays from other worlds. Her planet had a few of its own, when it was still around, some of them kind of similar in the whole decorating the trees aspect, except her kind lived in the trees.
"Cool!" she said. "Presents, huh? Are they for the important guy?"
She stepped up to examine the tree and decorations more closely, still holding the string of tinsel.
