its me
my little one
Little, deep within the thick water I was drowning.
Any attempt to pull myself up just put me deeper.
I shouted and struggled but nothing helped
I just got deeper and deeper until I could hardly breathe anymore.
“you are fine?” Suddenly there was a question from outside the swamp where I was.
I understood where I was. Right beside you.
What happened? I did something? In an attempt not to hurt you stroked me so gently that you did not touch me at all.
No, it's not you. I tried to explain.
Once I went deep into the swamp, each step I took me deeper. Every branch I tried to hold on to stab me
A large crocodile came closer and closer to me. And I was just drowning more and more.
With my last breath, I managed to light a fire and burn everything.
Including myself.
They swept the ashes that I had turned into a coal mine, to tried to turn me into a diamond.
In the cold mine, I sat among all the ash women who fluttered like restless ghosts.
One of them sat next to me and ask, "I'm a little, right?"
"you are perfect!" I answered "I'm little" and I became little.
So little that when I went out into the yard of the house I got lost in the grass.
Ants took me to the lost and found.
I put on everything I could find. Armor, helmet, crutches.
Just so I will not be little again so I will not drown.
But at the end of the day, all those costumes weighed on me and underneath I was little.
So little that a hand could crush me.
And then I decided,
I will not stay long enough in my hand, I will not give it the chance.
So I skipped with all my costumes, between hands.
Until one of them closed a moment before my foot could reach.
I caught a finger, trying to hold on. Not to fall.
But the costumes dragged me down.
One by one I took them down and lifted myself up.
With great force, I pulled each finger from the fist until my palm was open for me.
I was so tired that I fell asleep at the very center.
When I woke up I understood where I was and was filled with fear. I could not breathe.
I was little and the hand held me. The painful cold of the swamp returned to my memory.
But warmth and light filled me, I was little and your hand wrapped me carefully.
"You're my little one," you told me. "My little love" and I grew up.
I grew up until I could wrap you in my palm too.
And all the fear disappeared and I could to breathe again.
