The Blue Album (Cover) Tapestry

I created this infographic of sorts, mapping the thematic and sonic lineage of albums across different genres. Each connection is based on emotional tone, as well as some genre overlaps.

As for the process: I selected albums that I was familiar with and wanted to see if any of them had anything in common beyond the colour of their covers.

(Also was inspired to make this after listening to the "Bocanada" album for the first time yesterday)

Day 2: Perverts (2025) - Ethel Cain

There is something that feels oddly...comforting when listening to this body of work. Maybe it’s because of the cloudy weather with the occasional rain that has taken over since the beginning of the year (at least, where I’m from) or that Ambient, one of the primary genres in this record tends to be inherently relaxing. Now I am not saying that this isn’t haunting, or that it doesn’t have the potential to be isolating to listeners - it does. But that is the beauty of it. Favorites include: Vacillator, Etienne and Amber Waves
