Totally forgot hetalia was a thing back in the early 2010s. I remember seeing hetalia cosplayers running around the conventions I attended but I never paid attention to the series that much. Where you a fan back then? Why was it so popular?

I got into Hetalia around then, so yeah! I think the combo of the 'edgy' humor and the early 2010s is what had it sparked so brightly into the popularity it had, but I can really only speak to why I liked it.

Your history textbook was a sort of canon alongside the show 'canon'. You could open to any chapter about any country/historical event and boom you have fanfiction material right there. You weren't beholden to the show to provide the story- you could *make* the story- and with 5 min episodes that jumped around so much since they were collections of short comics, there really wasn't a story beyond vague history vibes. There was a lot of room to create and engage and expand. The characters were fun, expressive, and you could find a connection between (and a reason to ship) pretty much any two countries if you looked for it long enough.

Also it was like... really easy to make a hetalia cosplay. White dress shirt, black slacks, and a wig and boom, you can be like nine different characters depending on the wig. Throw in a flag just to make sure people know which blonde boy you are xD

Thank you!! I'm actually in the process of remaking and redoing a lot of my heta merch, so my shop is surprisingly bare of it? In the meantime, other than the new wood designs, I've got a mochi standee set and a mix and match flag charm that I'm slowly adding more flags to haha.

My shop has been updated with all these new Sky: Children of the Light designs! The darkness/shard plant chained magnets are limited to only 5 quantity of each, but will be restocked in the future.

First up: Sticker Sheets!

These designs are printed on water-resistant vinyl so they are rather durable. The Midnight Manta and Jelly designs have translucent areas for layered effects! 🤍

The Light Creatures embossed set features 5 different magnet/pins (your choice!) and a matching tin with all of the creatures in the set included 🌟

The Dark Creatures set is also made of a batch of 5 creatures (do plants count?) and a matching prophecy mural style tin featuring all of the creatures in the set 🔥

And finally we have a chained magnet in the style of darkness and shard plants! These are hand-beaded and assembled. The acrylic for these has glitter embedded in it for a *gorgeous* depth that pictures can't do justice! Each design only has 5 quantity available for this update 💙❤️

I love cardverse so much okay xD I have a lot of plans for more, too! I also try to make all of my original card suit merch 'cardverse compliant', so you'll catch things like Diamonds having a lily for a national symbol because of France, Spades having an eagle in their heraldry for America- and so on! If you count that too, then I have a LOT of cardverse merch ideas still coming up xD

Jam biscuits and cream sandwich cookies are two delicious snacks that lend themselves well to fridge magnets (and pins), don't you think?

I've got strawberry for Hearts and lemon curd for Diamonds down pretty well, but do you think blueberry fits for Spades or is it not purple enough? Clubs is a bit dark for key lime, but perhaps green apple? 🤔

Royal Portrait Wood Series

These embossed wood charms will be made available in the shop on June 17th! I'm thrilled with how they turned out ♡ The characters and the frames are raised higher than the backgrounds, giving a 3D effect. Parts of the frames are even 'carved in' to help sell the look!

The beaker shape really fits her glass! I really wanted to try making merch for Queen since I don't see as much for her for some reason. This shape liquid charm is really fun to fiddle with and has a fun feel in my hands, so I keep one at my desk at work.
