One year on my birthday when I was struggling with money (earned £6.70 an hour, slept on a mattress on the floor), I had friends visit for a party.

We went to an aldi to get food, and everyone insisted on paying for their own food, buying full bottles of fizzy drink, their own snacks and so on. Some of the friends brought their own baked goods too. Later, one friend covered a Chinese takeaway order for me and everyone ordered lots of food to eat with no hesitation, only to mention that their eyes had been bigger than their stomachs when the food did arrive.

I didn't realise what was happening until the next day, when each person left my flat with the same "oops, bought too much food to take home with me— I'll just leave it with you!" farewell.

I think about it a lot. I don't know if it was planned or not, but they all made sure I didn't need to worry about food for a good few weeks. Back then, I had to freeze loafs of bread to ration them out, and I had an iron deficiency from not being able to afford good food. But alone in my flat, I realised that I suddenly had a kitchen full of reminders that my friends loved me.

I've been thinking of my Other Furry Universe with ocs i've had since i was 13. their original story used to have wacky world-saving adventures when they were teens, then i had them grow up with me n' now they're burnout adults with normal lives

their story is a bit more grounded (compared to celesteverse they still dealt with things like zombies and villains as kids), focusing on their interpersonal relationships and modern life

i revisit these guys every few years. other than some short storylines they're more "episodic" in my brain. theyre super personal to me they have a special place in my heart :]

also the celesteverse cast show up as minor characters! flash in fact is a love interest for grey along w logan kinda also being grey's love interest

this is also their general tag there's not a lot there but there's some bit lol

The first image is from '09, when I was 13. They were the same age as me at the time. The second is 2019 and simple redraw of their sort of 'reboot'. And yeah it was supposed to be like a cringe joke parody of abbey road shut up leave me alone

last night someone left the door open and none of us could figure out who did it. not a huge deal but it’s important to keep the animals in, if they were to get out of their room into the main space. since we all swore we shut it behind us we decided to look back at the motion sensor game cam to see if it bounced open or something so we could fix it so it wouldn’t do that.

i was like “it had to have somehow bounced open. it’s not like anyone out here would be breaking in.”

my friend joked, “there were a few deer in the pasture last night that looked shifty.”

Well you’re never gonna fucking believe this.

I even thought to myself “maybe it was me?” because of my ADHD. but shutting doors and gates is one of my ONLY reliable habits because i’ve been on farms my whole life.

I’m never second-guessing myself again after this, frankly. from now on when I misplace my keys I’m gonna be like, well maybe they were taken by a wild animal.
