This is the Tumblr for a marathon event, to celebrate all things Spangel (aka Spike/Angel)!

This is an event for all creative types! We'll be accepting fanfiction, gifsets, moodboards, fanart, fanvids, etc for this event.

His last—though William doesn't know that yet. What he does know is this: he's tired of watching the man he loves from across dining halls. That something has to give. And that you can only call something manageable for so long before the word stops meaning anything. Or a story in which Spike and Angel are human figure skaters because I got way too invested in the Winter Olympics this year.

A Lesson to Learn

William couldn't stop the quiver of his throat, of how his chest rose and fell, expecting pain. His fingers loosened from where they had wrapped around the chains that kept him connected to the blacksmith's wall. He didn't bother to try to free himself. He had been wrong, put the others — their family, in danger because he had been too eager.

It was just the two of them now, and William didn't dare speak after Angelus and riffled through the tools and chained him to the far wall. The wall that was so close to the impossible heat that never died. He swallowed eyes going to the forge and moldings feeling the waves of heat wafting from the infernal furnace.

Another apology and excuse hung on his lips but instead he swallowed it in favor of a plea. "Angelus," his lips parted with the name trying to put everything he dare not beg for within it.

An angry cruel smile pulled at Angelus' blood painted lips. The blacksmith and his family had been devoured in an angry swift death. He had dropped them without a care, the older vampire hungry for William's remorse, blood, and loyalty rather than to properly care for a full meal nor share them.

"None of that now, lad," he whispered, moving closer to him and ripping open his layers of clothing, waistcoat and undergarments ruined.

The younger's breath caught at the tease of tantalizing fingers over his chest. William released a groan, fingers tensing once more around the chains that kept him against the dirt floor and wall.

"I'll listen," he groaned, sucking in a harsh unneeded breath as a nail clawed at his nipple. "I swear it, won't risk the girls — you again."

A contemplative hum left the older vampire's lips. "Swearing has little use to the likes of us, dontcha think Willie?" Brown eyes roved over the pale unmarked flesh laid out before him. "I'm of the belief that devotion," his fingers ran up the other's side before curling around his chin. "True devotion isn't to be given, it's to be taken."

William couldn't look away from the other even if he wanted, eyes fixated on him as Angelus leaned over him. The elder's hand gripped his jaw tightly, keeping his head forward, but out of the corner of his eye he could see it. He could feel it a moment later, the white hot iron coming closer, a whimper leaving his clenched jaw.

He hadn't meant to cause them to run from the last village. Hadn't meant to bring harm to Drusilla, he never would.

William swallowed, captivated by the glowing reflection of the iron in the auburn haired vampire's eyes.

A scream bubbled from his throat as skin, fat, and muscle bubbled under the iron that stabbed through his flesh. His blue eyes didn't dare close as he screamed, staring into the watching gaze of his grandsire. It stayed for far longer and shorter than William could ever account for later. It felt like seconds and an eternity of pain and heat all at once.

William groaned as it was ripped back from his body and thrown back into the forge to be used again.

"I will take your loyalty and your devotion, boy, and you will never make the mistake again," Angelus promised, releasing his jaw with a shove as Spike healed and groaned through the pain radiating through him.

He hadn't meant to cause Angelus trouble, to force him to bail him and Drusilla out of the hunter's traps. He hadn't meant it, but he would never make the mistake again.

The younger vampire's fingers clenched around the chains that held him and simply nodded, knowing there was nothing to do but take his punishment. His head lolled back, watching the cruel smile grow as it twisted over Angelus' lips.

Curses and Promises

Angel sighed, glaring at his familiar who was perched up on his shelves of dried herbs. "Don't do it," he hissed, raising a warning finger at the cat whose black fur was streaked with white. "Spike, I am warning you."

The familiar's head tilted bright blue eyes not looking away from the witch he was bound to. His paw hung in front of him poised to push the jar of mugwort from the ledge.

Angel didn't look away from him, knowing he couldn't reach the high shelf as fast as the stupid creature could push it down. "I didn't break my promise, Spike, you can't just break everything!" He cried, defending himself.

Spike huffed, paw jutting out quickly, glaring at Angel as he did.

"Fuck!" Angel lunged forward catching the mugwort only for Spike to drop a larger bottle of sage on his head. He let out a pained cry before glaring up at Spike. "Seriously?!"

Spike purred, watching Angel rub his forehead. The cat clearly pleased with himself and his revenge at waking up firmly stuck once more in his animal form after a few days of freedom and a roll in the sack with the wincing witch.

Angel glared up at him, not moving from his floor. "Did you ever stop to think that I wasn't happy to wake up to a clump of fur rather than the cute blonde I fell asleep next to?" He sighed, closing his eyes, still rubbing his head. "You are so annoying," he whispered, rubbing a hand down his face. "I don't know why I put up with you," he grumbled into his hand, hating how much his heart had ached at the lack of strength in his spell.

It was quiet for a long while, and Angel was surprised the attention seeking helper wasn't dropping more of his jars on him. It had taken him months to try to break the curse that had been laid on the familiar decades ago, far before Angel had bonded with Spike. He hadn't thought anything would happen, but the two had grown begrudgingly close and when he learned of the curse he had been determined to really see Spike.

A huff of air left him, growling as Spike landed like dead weight onto his chest.

"No, might not have," Spike purred, from on top of Angel's chest.

Angel sighed, happy that at least the enchantment on the collar was holding against the dark spell. He didn't look at him scrubbing his face as he lost on the floor of their shared cottage.

"I'm trying, Spike," he promised, speaking through his hands.

Small beans pushed at his hands, paws trying to part them but Angel refused. A hiss of pain and shock left him moving his hands when he felt claws dug into his skin. The witch moved his hands only to glare at his familiar.

"I know," he said simply.

The curse wasn't something easy, taking away Spike's control had been a dark spell that had twisted the familiar long before he had fallen into Angel's care or into his heart.

Spike leaned closer, head bumping on Angel's chin in an almost apology. "Sorry," he added after a moment of curling further under Angel's chin.

"I'll fix it, Spike," he whispered, leaning to the small head that pressed against his chin a purr rattling through the small body. He closed his eyes remembering the man he had cradled just the night before. "I will."
