@gldenthorns // it seemed god hated him as he once again was olivia. he was doing his very best to ignore the blonde until well.... he couldn’t anymore. couldn’t anymore being they both reached out for the same glass of wine. “oh um... here,” gabe mumbled pushing the glass towards her.
@fvlsedgods // when was the last time he can seen helen? lorenzo’s funeral, he was sure of it. he almost felt guilty of it, it seemed that day they departed as friends but now they were strangers. he would be lying if he said he didn’t try to keep up with her and greece through the grapevine or even newspaper.
seeing her he walked up beside her, the only thing for a moment was just the crunching of the snow before he spoke. “how have you been?”

arthur snickers. i hope everything is okay. gabe means well, though, and arthur appreciates it even if his expression reflects quite the opposite. it’s strange – standing in the cold dark with gabe. no cameras, no strangers. like existing in a pocket of the universe struck out of time. he almost doesn’t want it to burst.
“i have to say, if i ever describe anything in my life as going okay, know that it means the quite the opposite and i’m also probably being held hostage.” he laughs humorlessly into the night air. but gabe didn’t ask further and so arthur doesn’t tell anymore than that. “what of you? anything so dramatic in the joint houses of savoy and windsor?
maybe it was the wrong thing to say, but truly gabe hadn’t had a clue what to say in that moment. he didn’t wish the other ill, and didn’t wish to make the other feel as though he needed to tell gabe. it wasn’t his business, and gabe enjoyed staying in his lane.
gabe laughed, nodding. he could understand that to a point. he thought a moment, trying to gather his thoughts on the matter. he turned to the prince, shaking his head. “is it too cliche to say everything is going alright in my life? thanks to your cousin.”

shaking his head lightly, the man walked up towards the young prince. ‘ you of course, though it was a rather tragic throw. ‘ he paused momentarily, a smile drawn towards as his lips as his gaze met the others. ‘ have you never thrown a snowball at someone? or is that… just not royal enough? ‘ he mused, little jokes from a man that had little to no clue on how the life of monarchs actually functioned. but soon after his tone softened, ‘ you alright? you looked a little lonely over there… ‘
gabe sat up as the other approached. he nodded, a soft laugh coming from his lips as the other spoke. “it was,” he agreed. but then he shrugged. “honestly, it doesn’t snow in spain, where i live.” he loved madrid but often longed for winter, something he couldn’t get when he visited silas. “just... thinking i suppose, but now i can’t seem to remember what i was thinking of. what about you? what brings you out here? throwing snow balls at everyone you see?”

shaking her head lightly, she handed the lighter back over to the young man after he had taken a cigarette from her. he was proving to be rather entertaining, well– for as far as bad jokes went. she herself, wasn’t good at the whole humor thing, a part of her had fallen to pieces a long time ago. the part capable of laughing at the most ridiculous things with a stranger. but, in that moment she found a shard of her former self as a smile lingered upon her lips.
‘ oh yeah– very long. i can’t wait to get out of these shoes and into a pair of fluffy soft socks. ‘ with a glance down she took note of the discomforting shoes she had been sporting, they were too tight and shiny for her liking. ‘ what about you? did you enjoy the ball? ‘
gabe had to learn the bad dad joke thing by himself, sadly. lorenzo was gone and his father was not an option. he did pretty alright if he did say so himself. it was nice to see the smile on her face, that usually meant the ice was somewhat broken.
“most girls usually already have those off by now,” he said, pointing at the heels her feet were wearing. he couldn’t imagine the pain her feet must be in by now. “kinda,” he decided, shrugging at her. “it started off well, but by the end it was just kinda like kicking a dead horse.”

arthur hesitated. his first instinct was to reach for something biting and backhanded – a comment, a gesture – but the events of the night previous were a needle in his arm, and he was bled dry. without argument, arthur came to rest against the railing beside gabe, arms crossed.
there are so many cruel things he could say: i prefer the silence; only if you have nothing better to do. but gabe has shown him kindness, and arthur ought to return it the same. “it’s quite – peaceful, i’ll give you that, and not much else has been recently.” a wry smile catches him by surprise. “you know, you’re just about the last person i thought i’d find out here.”
gabe was surprised to say the least as the prince of wales came and leaned against the railing. he was so close, should gabe call for his bodyguard? would the other have a knife? he allowed the cold breeze to blow that thought away. he didn’t know what arther’s angle was. but he would try for silas.
gabe turned on the railing, allowing his legs to sway in the breeze. gabe nodded as the other spoke. “i won’t pretend to know what is happening in your life,” gabe started, just trying at this point. “but i hope everything is okay, or rather will be whenever its all resolved.”
he laughed and nodded. “same goes to you as well. just needed some air i guess, plus. i’ve always been a sucker of trains kicking up the snow. one of the few things i don’t see too often in spain.”

all through out the ceremony silas hadn’t done much to hide the fact that he was staring at gabe. james had tried poking fun at him, but his words went in one ear and right out the other as silas sat admiring his boyfriend, thinking about how good looked in his tux, as well as how good he’d look once silas took it off of him.
there was once a time when silas would have been able to tell you exactly what was on his brother’s mind. they were like two peas in a pod once, but not anymore. silas felt like he barely knew his older brother sometimes. they were so different now and it really showed when they were together. “i don’t pretend to understand anything about james,” he sighed. “oh, it can’t be that bad. helen seems nice enough.”
gabriel wondered how many seconds they would have before both of their suits would be on the floor. he also wondered if he would need to reorder his military uniform and what excuse he needed to come up with as to why.
gabe turned his attention from the glaring james back to silas. the two had spoken about their relationships with their elder brother, their whole family really, and it was eerie the similarities. but gabe was still semi close to his brother, or well. he was doubting that now seeing how lorenzo was very much ignoring the crowned prince. “my love,” he whispered to silas, kissing his cheek again softly. “she does seem very nice, but. she will never be you. and lorenzo will never be as lucky as i am.”

crap. she lost one of her earrings. of course she fucking did and usually she wouldn’t care so much about a lost earring but this was a gift. it wasn’t often that she wore this damn earrings and really, she wasn’t sure what she was thinking when she put them on ( she wasn’t ). but considering the moment she spent with antoine on the balcony — which one was it, there’s like fifty — lead her to believe that’s where the earring must be.
running into globby gabe the second time that night? not really something she desired but it wasn’t like she was avoiding him either. the whole thing between them, she stood in a neutral line there. “ jeeez. sorry, just — looking for something. you haven’t seen like a small diamond earring around here, have you? ”
oh good, her again. he moved his curls out of his face as he looked down around them. “no, but with the look on your face i am guessing they are special?” he paused for a moment. “come we can look together. but how small is small?”

it wasn’t hate, not quite. it was somewhere between indifference and disdain – whatever it was arthur felt towards gabe. the trouble was, arthur had never been good at emoting, and when he did it was often drawn out into the extremes. so, no, he didn’t hate gabe, but he’d never refuted the assumption, either.
“and if i told you i preferred this one?” arthur was being purposefully petulant, he knew, but he couldn’t quite stop himself. he’d found a soft little bruise to press on. “do you go about owning balconies now?”
gabe wanted to ask if the other had anyone else to torture but for the first time in his life gabe kept himself from speaking. he wondered if he other was always this much of a joy to be around. but instead of playing into the game gabe went to sit on the railing and then offered all the free railing to his side. “you are welcome to join me then,” gabe stated. “this one does have a good view, does it not? the trains kicking up snow is quite magical.”

she shifted her weight, leaning forward and taking the lighter in her hands. moving her hands forward she flicked it and lit her cigarette, inhaling heavily before extending her hand forward to return the lighter to him. ‘ quite frankly, who around here doesn’t have one? ‘ well, her, that was one person. regardless a corner of her lips shifted slightly allowing a hint of a smile to appear on her lips.
‘ my apologies, how rude of me– would you like one? ‘ it had been a long night, that was sure enough. and her mind was growing rather tired.
gabe leaned against the railing as he watched the other. “well,” he started, the corners of his lips turning up as the other spoke. “you don’t have one, or rather i don’t have one anymore.” he nodded and reached out, taking one of the long sticks from the cartoon.
“long night as well?”

he had been walking through the town when he noticed a young man sitting alone on a bench. he snuck up behind him, hand trailing in the cold snow. yusuf rolled a bunch of snow into a ball, before raising his arm and lazily throwing it towards gabriel. a bellowing laugh escaped his chest as dark hues met with the prince’s. ‘ oops, i missed. ‘ he paused momentarily, ‘ sorry about that, gotta work on my aim. clearly. ‘
gabe was looking down at his phone, idling trying to pass the time before he and anna could meet. it had been some time since he had seen his girlfriend and honestly, he was missing her. he jumped when the ball of coldness touched his curls. his hand came up, feeling the wet curls before he turned. “what were you even aiming for?” gabe asked, he wasn’t exactly annoyed but what the hell.
the wedding of helen of greece + lorenze of spain

silas still couldn’t grasp why his parents thought sending just him and james to a royal wedding was a good idea. being able to spend all of the time he wanted with his boyfriend was one plus to having to go to the wedding of the crown prince of spain and the crown princess of greece. silas had never been big on weddings, but being with gabe made them seem more and more tolerable. the relationship was still new, but silas knew he’d never felt this way about anyone else.
“yeah, i can-” silas cut off his own sentence to glance over at his brother. james was standing at the edge of the dance floor, glaring at lorenzo and his new wife. if silas hadn’t known better he’d think james was jealous. of who? he couldn’t tell. “i’m not sure… maybe they’ve competing to see who’s the most boring and james is mad that he’s winning?”
during the wedding gabe hadn’t been able to take his eyes on silas. he might be the best man but his eyes were fully on his boyfriend. the relationship was new but he couldn’t help but wonder, was silas the one?
gabe stepped closer to silas, it was odd. he and lorenzo were close but never before had he spoke the name james. was it a new friendship? was the crown prince of england somehow jealous of his brother... for marrying? “weird,” he mumbled and tilted his head up to silas. “are you sure james is winning? lorenzo is married forever to a women.”

“pity,” arthur said from his place against the open door frame. he wasn’t sure what he was looking for, really, but gabe’s presence offered a unique opportunity for antagonism that he was loathe to pass up. arthur was feeling antsy, shaken, desperate to stamp out his whining little conscience, small as it was.
“weill you let me know when it’s free? i’ve some brooding i need to fit into my schedule before the end of the day.” he glanced down at his signet ring, watching how it glittered in the light as he moved his hands just so. arthur’s words implied he’d take his leave, but he made no move to go.
gabe’s eyes closed hearing that voice. he wan’t in the mood to speak to his boyfriend’s cousin. he wondered why the other loathed him so, gabe hadn’t been him normal self about them, he had been nice and actually tried around them. he knew silas wasn’t just a fling, silas was the one. he never treated the other coldly. he turned looking to the other.
“there’s plenty more, i am sure you can claim your own balcony,” he stated. he allowed his hands to rest on the cold stone railing, it helped him keep himself not only upright but also grounding himself, taking strength from it.
