"i think..." she replies, leaning back to look at the pool with her eyes shaded. "i probably shouldn't make a comment on what looks good?" she gives a shake of her head, sipping on the drink. "we installed that new starlight pack for the lawn, but i've had to turn it off because it was too bright and i couldn't go to sleep." domi giggles and shrugs. "what renovations are you looking at?"
“ah, but i trust your vision.” it’s not like wonshik should comment either, on what’s a good choice and what isn’t. he lacks the sense of taste people grow up with around here, cultivated in children from an early age: by parents taking them to art galleries, to see the theater and opera, by discussions about the colour of the drapes over dinner. where wonshik grew up, they were lucky to have drapes at all, and his mother had sewn them from scrap fabrics, stitches handmade and tight. now that they can all afford better, the remains are thrown over the back of his couch. they're turned into a blanket an acquaintance had called charming at a party, the sort of compliment that really isn’t one.
he sits down, makes himself comfortable in the chair once again. the glass makes a satisfying clink against the stone of the patio when he sets it down next to him. it’s nice, this backyard of his, even if the rose bush in his direct life of vision could probably use some loving attention. it’s the sort of place he used to shoot at as a teen, on set to play someone comfortable and careless about it.
“it’s not got a dimmer? that’s just bad product design.” he hadn’t caught a glimpse of it; his bedroom window faces out the other side and he hadn’t been looking either. “i’d contact customer support, see if they can do something about it. i’ve heard those things are pretty, it seems like a waste to just leave it off.”
the truth is that he hasn’t looked at renovations so much as pondered them, so wonshik shrugs when she asks, easy. “i’m not sure yet. animal projections, maybe? i was at this thing the other night, the girl had a shark in hers. or, like, full on beach cosmetics.”
