My first shot at creating a sort of tutorial/guide, telling how I do things. On this initial chapter we’re going over the handy matter of Hands. Not meaning to be an encyclopedic explanation, only showing my own methods and self-taught clues. Hoping somebody finds it useful! :3 I’ll do more if this one is received well. So let me know~

their pans:

for those wondering, those scratches are where the non-stick coating has been scraped off (usually by metal utensils or cleaning utilities like steel wool), which means that food will stick more in those spots. plus, there runs the risk of more bits of that coating coming off into your food as you cook.

Non-stick pans and skillets are best for medium heat as they don't conduct heat as well, and for wetter foods like eggs and fish and pancakes.

On the other hand, cast iron pans and skillets don't have a built in protective coating. The metal will absorb grease and fats as they cook, building up an equally efficient non-stick coating of its own. And without the chemical coating that non-stick pans come with, there's no risk of any of it flaking off or melting into your food. They can handle higher temperatures without damage, and they get hot faster on the burner. Beef, pork, and chicken are best cooked on cast iron.

You don't want to let them soak in soap because it will remove that grease coating that makes the cast iron pan's non-stickiness, plus absorb soap that might melt back off into your food. A soap and sponge rub down is all it needs.

I hope this helps some people the way it helped me.

After giving this same advice about affirmations to a few people in the past few months, I thought I would put this together in comic form.

I actually recorded myself saying my affirmations and I repeat them as I listen on my drive to work. For a while, I got out of the habit of doing it and I realized I was feeling really down on myself. I’ve made it a priority lately and it’s made me feel more upbeat and capable. :)

Being disabled but having to rely on an energy vampire for help is like. You ask and it’s a Thing. It’s an inconvenience. Or it triggers an uncomfortable feeling and their reaction is to shut off their empathy because they only have the energy to cope with their OWN shit, and you asking for help is an ATTACK and THEY are the true victim of your illness. They twist it that way bc they are mal-adapted to the pains of adult life and only know how to deflect and project. Yet they LOVE to say, “welcome to the REAL world” and “when you’re out there in the REAL world–”
