Q: Can I use your art for RP/icons/my phone bg (etc)?

A: Yep!!! Provided you are an individual and not planning on selling anything w/ it or using it to be reactionary online, I think that’s really cool and flattering. I also don’t mind tracing of my poses/kisses if you’re trying to recreate something tricky or want to practice, provided you don’t trace an entire piece and pass it off as your own obvs.

Q: What programs do you use?

A: Sai2 for lines and most basic stuff, Clip Studio for heavy duty art and comic composition, Blender for 3D.

A: Yeah... Look I’ll either sit on them because I want to draw something when I’ve got the time or it got deleted. If you sent something nice I SAW IT AND IT MADE ME SMILE!!! I don’t like to spam anon compliments but they’re so nice ;w;

A: Yup, if you have your age in bio and you’re not sus, feel free to DM me and I can pass along the account name. Worth mentioning but sometimes I talk abt fics I’ve read that are explicit, and I won’t link or name them publicly here if you ask.

Q: Can you tag (x)?

A: I tag the usual sensitive themes like blood, smoking, alcohol etc. The ones that are muscle memory for me. If it’s a niche cw then I’m not going to promise to tag just in case I forget, and you might be better off unfollowing.

If you’re a minor it’s... kind of safe to follow this acct, but for posterity I tag all horny art that’s not technically full hog as ‘suggestive’.

A: Just a fun personal project and something I got addicted to when trying to adapt robots into something easier for me to draw. I’m working on a big PDF masterpost but I’m veeeeeery slow and busy.

why is first aid and vortex a ship? nothing against it i just don't know where the concept came from (if there is anything bedsides wouldn't it be interesting if-)

I believe it’s an old G1 fandom ship from like, jeez almost 15 years ago? There is literally nothing canonically supporting it if that’s what you mean.

It stems from how the con and autobot combiners are almost mirrors of each other, with defensor and bruticus being like, probably the most obvious example. Their teams have the same bones but their core philosophies drive the actual combination to v different places if that makes sense.

Onslaughts leadership is extremely vertical, Hot Spot is a summer camp counsellor. Streetwise and Swindle are both smooth-talking ‘thumb on the pulse’ guys but Swindle is a dickhead. Blast Off is a snobby bourgeois elitist, Blades rolls around in the dirt for fun. Brawl is Brawl. Groove smokes weed.

Tex and Aid are… VERY mirrored (derogatory). Even if you don’t take them to the intense extreme of Tex being a really awful guy and Aid being sacrosanct it’s pretty easy to get an interesting dynamic. There’s a lot of good, older fics that explore the problems you get when you try and ‘fix’ someone you love, or being ashamed of who you’re with, or what it’s like to be hopelessly attracted to a bad fit, or horrified at the parts of yourself you ‘lose’ when you fall for someone who’s very different from you… it’s good! A lot of it is quite a tough read but it’s good.

My ‘’’personal’’’ take (bless, there’s nothing in canon so you can just make shit up) is softer but still a bit rough around the edges. I like narratives about people who love each other but resent how it makes them feel weak, or out of control.

They’re both empathetic in their own ways; Tex is an interrogator, his job is to frighten and intimidate, and Aid is a soother. They’re almost a perfect fit with that context. They can also both ‘read’ each other, and Tex can probably tell he’s got the undesirable end of the stick. He’s not exactly a catch, and that can make someone bitter and resentful when they become aware of it. Aid isn’t perfect either; thinking ‘oh god what am I doing?’ is an ugly thing to think about someone you love, and they Can Usually Tell. Despite that? It’s worth it, it’s worth the struggle! It’s worth losing bits of yourself for another person if you love them and that’s the finish line 4 me with my stories.

Like A) Any punitive retaliation against fandom design/style theft will always be worse for the community than just letting them be. While I had expected and hoped for better, the worst thing i’ll do is slam the door on my way out, I certainly don’t want people using my anger to start a witch hunt.

B) Unfortunately we’ve seen what this fandom will do when someone with an audience sics their followers onto an art thief. It’s not pretty, I won’t be party to it, and I might be upset but i’m not too upset to know i’m better than that.

C) I feel like I made my point already LOL like attaching my bitchy vent to 5 pages of texaid comic is a pretty pointed cunty move and i’m at peace with it being my closing statement.

ITS BEEN SO LONG!!! Posting what I’ve finished from the Texaid comic I’d been chipping away at in my free time :,)

Atm i’m not sure if id be comfortable finishing this or posting the unfinished pages, and i’ll go into why a bit more under the cut, but for everyone who waited… thank you, you are so patient like the cobra 🥺🫶

Texaid is so beloved and important to me, and i don’t think that’s news to anyone who’s followed me for any length of time. I always come back to them, and even leaving a project like this on hiatus for so long I still felt pretty comfortable leaving this on the burner bc I knew I’d be back.

And with my work sometimes I do have to take fandom hiatus breaks! But I got a slightly confused dm from a friend at one point that said ‘hey man, did you know everyone’s crediting your designs to someone else in the fandom’ and ???? it was true!

And I know how obnoxious it is to see an artist get on their diva shit and claim design elements, but it’s important to know that, at the time, I was one of like three people posting texaid, and the other two were Japanese artists on twitter.

My redesign has my fingerprints all over it; those big circular rotaries on his shoulders? A mistake! I got my references mixed up at one point and just kept rolling with it because it was funny! His pointy teeth and nose and boots and fingers and eyebrows? I’m bad at squares! I was doing everything in my power to avoid drawing squares!

And people have asked if they can use my redesigns in their own au’s in the past, and i’ve always said no (especially in regards to texaid) and that’s because they’re personal to me. My vision of Texaid is something I projected a lot of my own personal romantic past onto, they were my first nsfw art, my first real emotional outlet after getting kicked out of home for being trans and was starving in a flop basement. Vortex’s design was cooked up out of the primordial soup of my brain at a time when I was at my most raw. Texaid doesn’t belong to me, but i redesigned them for a reason, and that was to distinguish the fact I was representing something personal.

So to come back to the fandom and see my boys and the dynamic i drew with the serial numbers filed off, with zero acknowledgement of my influence or even crediting another artist entirely… I feel really bloody hurt. Especially after watching the way this fandom viciously ran off an artist of colour for much less prolific art theft.

It kind of feels like y’all don’t care as long as you like the content. And idk if i want to keep posting in a space like that, where my niche vent art gets repackaged into something more marketable, and I go unacknowledged.

So yeah, might be the last time I post my texaid stuff publicly! If they’re that important to me and I get this upset when theyre cribbed, and if i feel like yall can’t rly be trusted, then Im just gonna keep it in dms with besties. Thanks for hearing me out xoxox
