When I was in Tokyo I met someone who after finding out I liked Ranma 1/2, got so excited. She said "Ranma best anime" and that made me so happy. Her favourite character was Ryoga and she called him "darling".

While I was in Tokyo last October I was on the look out for Ranma 1/2 merchandise in Nakano and found a Ryoga keychain! When I went to buy it the sales guy saw it smiled and said "best boy"

And I was like Soo Tru he very much is 😭✨✨💛

Honestly, I would like Ryoga x Ukyo to be canon, but I'm worried that the reboot will decide to follow the manga's love interest 😭

Yeah, I hear ya anon! I'm use to most of the ships I love with a burning passion not being canon. 😭 It's almost natural for me now lol!

As much as I would love them to make it the canon in the new anime.. It will mostly follow manga rules. I'm conflicted about it for sure! THIS IS THEE SHIP ✨💯

I will never stop shipping them regardless though! I will continue to fanart them! Maybe even one day fanfic! They are a VERY special ship to me !!! (I was there in the original Avatar shipping wars in 2008 🤣 I am a ship veteran) I can make essays about why I ship them and perhaps I will!

That being said I like Akari and Konatsu. Fun fact ( maybe?) when me and my friends were kids and we all assigned ourselves characters my friend snagged Ukyo who I wanted but I loved Ryoga so much I just decided to be Akari and cosplay her eventually (lol no one knew who I was 😭 ) but I made my own custom P-chan piggy bank to carry around then and it got more attention than my cosplay😆. So a little part of me is glad that now more people will know her now! So multi shipper here with both of them!

But a OTP IS A OTP! Even if it's just in the hearts of those who ship them!!!

TLDR

I love Ryoga x Ukyo they are my favorite ship of all time and not even new anime canon will change this.

But also IF THEY MAKE IT CANON ID BE SO FRICKEN HAPPY LIKE WOW DREAMS DO COME TRU 💖✨✨

But I personally am ok with their "canon" ships they just don't fill me with the burning passion that Ryoga x Ukyo do. I'm all about that passion baby!!! 💜 💛
