it's giving woke up late but it's ok since classes were canceled for the day due to cold weather, making pancakes for lunch, and watching music videos until sunset
Wrap 🆙 2025
What I read this year
I read Fumio Sasaki's minimalist book; i just wanted to see what all the fuzz was about. There were some ok stuff in there, but I've learned more from modern content creators about this topic. Of course, he was way beyond his time (not in a mean tone). Overall, i am very grateful for those who pioneered the movement. I am feeling less and less the desire to acquire more stuff.
What I watched this year
I watched a lot of yt videos, mostly about hair and minimalism. These two are really down to earth people if you're looking to start your journey there. I haven't had a lot of free time but every chance i get, i'll watch a foreign film or a new show. I binge watched Lost, and since I was a fan of Person of Interest (which i watched eons ago), it was mildly infuriating seeing "Finch" this way. Lastly, I wrapped up the second season of Severance and immediately added it to my list to rewatch, there's just so many easter eggs, I'll have to revisit.
Other hobbies I had fun with this year
I'm still doing the keto baking (3rd year in a row). I recently discovered using ground up sunflower seeds as flour (and in small amounts) go well in chocolate cookies batter. When i'm not baking, i try to go out in a go big or go home kinda way. I did go to Aespa and Blackpink in LA this year and they were both amazing. I also went to NYC for the second time and it was kind of emotional. I learned so much about myself in 2025 and about life in general. I think that's my new hobby actually, come to think about it. Just being at peace with everything. Myself included. I think minimalism woke up something in me for sure. That being said, because I do yoga and meditation and a lot of soul searching and i read about philosophy, free will, etc., i came to the conclusion that once i'm aware that the clutter is temporary and that i can control it, then it doesn't really bother me anymore if i can't get to it right away. I also know that there should not be a limit to color. Ever. So, i am getting rid of old polishes i don't use because they don't spark joy or whatever, and at the same time i am consciously and intentionally telling myself it's ok to live in a timeline where i would repurchase them or i would miss them or i would feel nostalgic after seeing a pic of such colors on my blog or on someone else. It's ok. Those two things can coexist because there is more out there, and as we know colors are infinite. I thrive in ♾️ .
Future plans for next year
Aside from resuming writing on my blog... Definitely, go outdoors more. I used to be such a homebody, and i actually dislike the sun, and the dry-cold air. Yeah but the tradeoff is worth it here in Cali. It's the state that keeps on giving. Everywhere i go there is something magical, and that explains why i've stayed here for most of my adult life. Not sure when i will leave, but i am planning on more hikes next year, like the botanical garden shown above. The views alone make me forget about all the irrational thoughts that the planet is doomed, they give hope. Hope is all i can hold on to so i can function throughout the day.

What I read this year
Tea. I read a lot of conspiracy theories and celebrity gossip stories, i mean who wouldn’t, this year was crazy here in la la land.
What I watched this year
I started rewatching Felicity. I needed a little disconnect from the present, so i went straight to the past. I am currently on the unwatchable season 3 and i can’t wait until i’m done—because sense of completion—so i can start rewatching gilmore gurls. I forgot how good Keri Russell was, and I got to the second episode of the Diplomat, and i have to add that to my list to watch. I also watched the Perfect Couple and it was alright. Since the writers strike i’ve been waiting on sequels for several shows such as Last of Us, Squid Game (which is here as of yesterday), Yellow Jackets, etc.
Other hobbies I had fun with this year
Love me some baking. I think i finally mastered the half-keto gingerbread cookies. Although, I still think there’s some room for improvement with the decoration. I have to make my own icing because the store bought is just too finicky.
Future plans for next year
This year i went to the first linkin park concert from their current tour with the new vocalist, next i got tix to aespa at the same venue. Sometimes i forget how lucky i am of living in this big city. There is so much to do here, i could never be bored.
