2019

My 2019 has been a wild freaking ride.

I been to the emergency room 4 times for the same stupid stomach related issue.

Figured out what that issue is and it seems so made up.

Got promoted at work.

Went to New York.

Saw BTS in concert.

Went to Korea.

Got accepted to a university.

Dealt with depression and anxiety.

And tomorrow will be the 9th anniversary of my being Cancer free.

Y'all mf made it illegal for my ancestors to wear their hair in it’s natural form or in their traditional hairstyles, they would go to jail for it. And as for the way we talk, man, you call us “ghetto” and yell at us for not speaking “proper English”, when we just speaking our AAVE, which has been in our community for generations. Same goes for the harassment and hate black folk has gotten for things that we literally can’t change like, big lips, wide hips, thick thighs, big butts, and basically the entire black anatomy.

And now you gon tell me that after centuries of mocking, hatred, homicide and racism for all the things I listed above, now you want to take those same things for yourself just because you find them cute or edgy or funny?

Well nah, with that you just telling us that those things can ONLY get positive attention if you do em as a white person, because if you do em as a black person they immediately get negative connotation.

You don’t get to minimise and erase our pain and our struggle just for your benefit.
