Happy Jim Henson Remembrance Day. I think that's what we Muppet fans should call May 16. Jim passed away on May 16, 1990.
By coincidence, this photo appeared in the May 16, 1970 issue of TV Guide as part of an article about Jim Henson's work on Sesame Street. After years on variety shows, it's neat to see many of his earlier creations among the Sesame Street characters here, including Wontkins, the shrunken version of the Beautiful Day Monster, Fred from the Munchos commercial, Icky Gunk from Sam and Friends, and of course, Rowlf.
Unknown to his friends and family, Godzilla would sneak into jazz clubs incognito and entertain the crowds as sultry saxophonist Duke Silver.

You're shouting again, Captain Bert
I wouldn't have to shout, Commander Ernie, if you wouldn't eat cookies in the damn bed!
