Today I scraped together all my courage and asked my mom if she'd ever be open to having a dog in the house again. She said she misses our last dog and wouldn't mind the company of a new one- just that she didn't like the idea of walking the dog again. Exactly the reason both my psychologist and GP advised me to get a dog: to go on walks & get out of the house.
Not at all the reaction I expected (and feared), so I'm carefully optimistic 😊
