Kyle was a 21 year old man from Georgia, whose family described him as "a kind, thoughtful, and smart young man who loved nature, music, and the people around him". Kyle Bassinga was killed on February 18th 2026, just ten days after his birthday. He was found hanging from a tree in a park.

The police ruled it a suicide. The family and local community demanded an investigation. The police refused to change their ruling.

Like I said to the person who was threatening me with their own suicide yesterday (before blocking them), I think it's worth considering why y'all make excuses and/or get defensive when someone says something is racist.

Why are you that upset? If I said the design is racist, why are you telling me every reason you thought it wasn't, as if that's going to make the harm any less upsetting? As if it's going to rationalize it (which, really, underscores that you think there's an overreaction occurring).

"Well I thought it was-" "but I thought it was-" "well to be fair, it's-" why do I have to bring an entire court case of evidence to prove harm, but the harmful party/situation in question gets the automatic benefit of the doubt in your mind?

I get being thorough and not accepting anything at face value. But it doesn't escape me that excusing and rationalizing racism is the default response. If we're doing that every time someone approaches us... You may wonder why y'all don't get approached with said problems.
