Howdy. I'm in need of a new pinned post, so here goes nothin'.
The names Spectre. I am a non-binary masc cartoonist who focuses mostly on fantasy character design in both traditional and digital art. I am hoping to get started on a comic real soon.
Some interests of mine include TTRPGS (mainly Dungeons and Dragons), pirates, cowboys, steampunk, video games and a few other bits here and there.
Commissions are currently closed-ish. I can take the odd one here and there so feel free to contact me~
I'm still relatively new to Tumblr and learning the basics, but I'm happy to make friends along the way, so please reach out if you'd like! My messages are always open.
I have officially been diagnosed with ADHD which is a momentous occasion as I have struggled terribly with mental health my whole life. So here is a gremlin to commemorate ✨🌶️
With this new diagnosis, it feels like a breath of fresh air to finally know that I am not broken, I just need the extra help. I will be able to start taking medication to help me get better and do more of the things I love without feeling like I'm battling every time.
I can finally understand how my brain works a little better and explain how it works to others without sounding like I'm making excuses all the time (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)
I had the urge to try and make a Sphynx Tabaxi character and wanted to practice some different skills. I was watching Drawfee and saw their one layer challenge and thought I'd try it myself!
It's a little rough and a bit messy but the character was fully painted on a single layer (after my usual paper sketch because I'm awful.)
Considering everything going on in so many social media platforms, I need to try and figure out where to post and how social media works cuz boy I am AWFUL
So, to try and build up Tumblr again, here's a more recent art.
A Gummy Shark Triton Barbarian character being made for a Candyland/Toyland campaign me and a couple friends are working on!
His name is Finnegan Gnash and instead of raging, he gets a sugar rush~ UvU
I drew this one a couple months ago, but I still love how it came out.
Character backstory along with timelapse vid below!
Elias 'the Merciless' Deckert had always been a troubled soul. Born to an Aasimar mother and a human father, he was blessed with celestial features and divine powers, but cursed with a restless heart and a constant feeling of not belonging. As he grew older, he became disillusioned with the world and its dark underbelly, unable to reconcile the good and evil that coexisted within it.
One fateful night, consumed by his inner demons, Elias made the ultimate decision - to end his own life. But as he jumped off the bridge, ready to meet his fate, a sudden surge of divine energy coursed through his body, saving him from certain death. It was in that moment that Elias realized the gravity of his actions - attempting to take his own life was a sin, and he was now condemned to eternal damnation.
But instead of accepting his fate, Elias made a vow to himself - he would seek redemption and rid himself of this curse. He would become merciless in his pursuit of purifying his soul, even if it meant sacrificing everything else.
With his newfound powers, Elias could now see the beings sent by both God and the Devil. He could see the angels and demons walking among humans, manipulating and influencing them towards their own agendas. And he could also see the innocent souls caught in the crossfire, their lives taken as collateral in this eternal battle between good and evil.
Determined to put an end to this vicious cycle, Elias set out on a mission to purge the world of these corrupt beings. He became a lone vigilante, tracking down and eliminating any angels or demons that he deemed unworthy of their divine status. He was ruthless and unrelenting, showing no mercy to those who had caused so much pain and suffering in the world.
But as he carried out his mission, Elias could not escape the guilt and sorrow that weighed heavily on his heart. The more he fought, the more innocent lives were lost. He could feel the weight of their souls on his shoulders, a constant reminder of the consequences of his actions.
Despite the darkness that consumed him, Elias could not give up. He had to believe that his actions were for the greater good, that by purging the world of these corrupt beings, he was making it a better place for the innocent.
Elias 'the Merciless' Deckert may have been condemned to eternal damnation, but he refused to let that define him. He was a man on a mission, a vigilante seeking to make the world a better place, even if it meant sacrificing his own soul in the process. And as long as there was good and evil in the world, Elias would continue to fight, for he knew that his redemption was worth any price.
A redraw of an ooooold character of mine (old enough to have my old art tag)
Left: July 2021. Right: November 2023.
This is Mhyra. She is an Eldritch Maiden. A cuttlefish darling, if you will. I'm tempted to add her into my story stuff around my other recent characters as she fits in quite nicely.
The past month has been... unbelievably difficult for me. I've been struggling.
TW: mentions of death.
At the beginning of September, I lost my godmother to cancer. It was heartbreaking and difficult. My mother and I had to step in to look after my godsister and help her with everything. We had the funeral, it was a wonderful service but still deeply saddening.
Last week, my aunt got into a serious car crash. She was rushed to intensive care with broken legs, broken ribs, broken hands and a perforated bowel. They put her under to keep her from being in pain. The surgeries were successful... however.. when they tried to wake her, she was unresponsive. There was a bleed on her brain. She was gone. She was taken off life support on Thursday. It was devastating. It's still not fully sinking into both me and my mother.
I've also been struggling a lot with other mental health issues which haven't helped, but I am just... so emotionally and physically drained..
So.. I apologise for being so distant and not posting. I hope to come back soon. It's just not happening at the moment. I'm sorry.
