How to Read More: The Simple System I’m Using to Read 30+ Books Per Year
culturenlifestyle:
Warren Buffett, the man commonly referred to as the greatest investor of the 20th century, was standing in front of 165 wide-eyed students from Columbia University.
One of the students raised his hand and asked Buffett for his thoughts on the best way to prepare for an investing career. After thinking for a moment, Buffett pulled out a stack of papers and trade reports he had brought with him and said,
“Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it.”
Buffett estimates that 80 percent of his working hours are spent reading or thinking. It’s enough to make you ask,
“Am I reading enough books?”
When I asked myself that question recently, I realized that there were some simple reasons I wasn’t reading as much as I would like to, and I developed a reasonable system that is helping me read more than 30 books per year.
Let me explain…

when “no means no” comes up, you hear guys say “oh, but sometimes girls play hard to get” and like…. i guess, yeah. men & women both can be really bad at being honest about what they want. but just consider your options.
the other person says “no” and means “yes” –> you back down –> they learn that if they want something, they have to clearly express themselves
they say “no” and mean “no” –> you back down –> you’ve successfully respected their boundaries 👍👌
they say “no” and mean “yes” –> you ignore them –> you’re perpetuating a pattern of bad communication & ignoring boundaries 👎 & given that you aren’t a mind reader, it’s really just luck that you haven’t coerced an unwilling person into sex
they say “no” and mean “no” –> you ignore them –> you’ve committed sexual assault 🚨🚨🚨 do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars
unless you care more about getting laid than not assaulting people, respecting people’s “no”s is a win-win situation. don’t be a potential rapist
This is really important

When you are alone with the big popular pairings:
I can defeat all of you!
This is really not okay.
I think some people fail to realize that men can be sexually assaulted, too, and not just by other men. This girl shoves him against the wall and slaps him three fucking times when he pushes her away. Heck, he has to push her away twice before she backs off for a moment. Then she goes right back to kissing him.
If the genders were reversed, everyone on this site would be flipping a shit. And if anyone dares to tell me that it’s different when a girl does it to a guy, I will personally write you a three-page essay on why it is still not okay.
I’m just going to REBLOG this all the fucking time
I SWEAR I WILL ALWAYS REBLOG THIS.
This is not okay. Gender does not matter. Forcing someone will never be okay. Never.
I’m looking at every single one of my 290+ followers right now, and I’m expecting you to reblog this.
Hey I hope you all reblog this AND DON’T IGNORE THIS.
Women can be just as abusive as men, despite what society tells you.
This is the post that brought my attention to the abuse of men. I hope it can help someone else.
People tend to overlook this because women are said to be weaker than men... physically speaking, a woman can’t take down a men of the same caliber so easily...
HOWEVER
The problem is men are taught not to hit girl, thus some girl can abuse this exactly like in this video. So, because men can defend themselves just like that, WOMEN CAN ABUSE MEN. DON’T OVERLOOM THIS.
