the mention of the speed force - being thrown into it , embracing it , finally getting a chance to confront the energy that had abandoned him and made his life hell - gives him pause for just the briefest moment , flickering as he slips out of the timeline and then back in again with a thick swallow . not the time for that . it isn’t . instead , he rakes a hand through his curls , tugging them for a second before he pushes up his goggles , yellow eyes brimming with what might be ( not that he’ll admit it ) frustrated tears .

“ it’s match , ” he admits quietly , a muscle in his jaw jumping . “ i need - he needs help . i’ve tried what i can but he’s still deteriorating . ”

if wally knew thad’s train of thought when it came to the speed force  ,  he would try to rectify it.  he’s been there  ,  surrounded by her.  she isn’t something you’d want to try and confront  ,  but he supposes thad is not only an idiot  ,  he’s the kind of idiot that would try to get into a fist fight with the speed force if given the chance.  he tries not to notice how thad pushes his goggles up  ,  the way his eyes water.  if he acknowledges that thad has feelings  ,  and is more human than any of them would like to think  ,  he’ll start to feel bad about what he’d done. “  so you want my help  ?  what exactly do you want me to do  ,  thad.  i don’t have special kryptonian - clone healing abilities  ,  kid.  i can’t help your friend.  you should take him to a lab.  “
