I was wondering. Did you know that Jeremy Renner complained about he hadn't enough text and apparitions in Avengers? In that case, do you think Quicksilver wouldn't be dead if Renner hadn't done it? (If you're scared that ppl could be spoiled (i don't think so), don't answer dw :) )
Not really. In a pod-cast with Joss Whedon he states that;
From the beginning he wanted to kill off Quicksilver. He kept teasing and teasing multiple scenes of Hawkeye getting killed off.
Stuff like when he says ‘I’m going to live forever’ Or when we meet his family, there’s so much set-up of ‘look how nice everything is, it’d be a shame if something happened’He even announced Aaron having a multi-film contract to trick people into thinking he wasn’t going to be killed off.
The only thing that stops Whedon from killing people off is Disney’s higher ups.He even filmed an alternative ending where Quicksilver is with his sister at the last scene of ‘Avengers Assemble’ just incase Disney said no.
With all that being said however- this little PietroLives uprising might just have swayed Disney’s mind on it. They might loop back to Whedon and say; ‘Hey no, a lot of people like this guy- we can get a lot of money off this’
That’s why I think it’s been left very open ended whether he’s dead or not. There was no funeral, he gets shot earlier on and doesn’t even register pain from it. Wanda is OP and can bring him back to life.I’m sure I’ve heard something about Wanda being in the new Doctor Strange film and he’s pretty OP enough to bring him back too.
It’s all very ‘will he, won’t he’ at the minute.As for Renner-- He’s aloud to complain. In the first Avengers he had a total of like 12 minutes screen time??But I don’t think that would effect the outcome of who dies. Contracts are set blah-dee-blah and that’s that.
