does little!Grace ever have to have like a time out for emotional regulation and how does he handle it?

Oh absolutely! Lil guy is so full of emotions and when he's smaller, it's a bit harder for him to cope!

So sometimes the smallest things become wildly unfair, overwhelming and poor Grace is just buzzing with emotions that are...not coming out nicely (he's yelling or throwing things or saying not so nice things...)

Of course a time out isn't a punishment!! He isn't in trouble for his feelings BUT he needs time to sit with those feelings in a space that isn't overstimulating!

It's a corner of the room but it has a nice seat and some regulation tools there for Grace to use while he sits there (like, those lil sensory water tubes or tactical stim toys) it looks nothing like a punishment area, just another area of the place which Grace can use ;w;

Typically his carer directs him there. Not in a mean way but in a "alright, you're having very big feelings and you're not being safe about them" way. Grace will usually cry because he's just so overwhelmed!!!

But, after a couple minutes his carer will join him, helping him talk through what was making him feel that way and how they can use the skills Grace has learned to help himself out when things get too much! 💖💖💖

I liked the book better but yeah I can see it- Rocky thinks these are normal Human Things- Grace is probs embarassed about regressing like Rocky is about eating and it IS kinda similar so Grace doesnt contradict him

Honestly nothing makes me feel more regressed than sitting in the backseat of my friends cars like I get to have my own quiet space and then I get to hear conversations I can't fully understand or hear up front. Recently was in the backseat and my friends know how much I love firetrucks so while I was quiet in the back my friend went "Oh! Here comes a Firetruck!" And it went past us and I felt like. Five again.
