Camp Halfa
DPXPJO
It started with a late night ghost fight followed by a pre-dawn bus ride.
We'll technically it started with a Birthday gift. It came late as his parents always were with anything not ghost related. An admittance fourm for space camp and a bright orange NASA hoodie.
Fast forward a few months and an exhausted Danny was on a red-eye to New York. He was also still healing a few burns from Skullker's newest weapon.
So can anyone really blame him for sleepily following the first teen he heard mention Apollo wearing the same bright orange as him? Who else would be talking about a spacecraft while wearing such a garish colour if not a fellow camper.
He has a few fuzzy memories about the other teens asking if this is his first year at camp and worrying about how tired he was. How oddly understanding they had been when he 'joked' about a late night fight taking the life outta him. Something about a weird tree and sinking through a not green ghost shield like jello.
Next thing he knows he's awkwardly staring down a centaur in the most aggressive camp circle he's ever seen.
"Well this isn't space camp..." Danny muttered.
"How did you get through the barrier? What are your intentions?" The half horse demanded.
"It's always "Who are you?", "What are you doing here?" And the screaming and the weapons..." Danny whined with a sigh, "Can't it ever be, "Hey there fellow non human, you look like you could use a nap and some food"... No one believes in wholesome hospitality anymore..." the teen trails off.
"Apologies for the weariness, we have never had our barrier respond like that before. Usually you either ARE a halfblood or you AREN'T."
"Oh well I'm definitely half something." Danny snorted. "I don't suppose we can chalk this all up to a 'whoopsy daisies' and let me meander my way to space camp..." Danny bargained while backing up to the weird not ghost shield. He pouted once he hit a solid force instead of the jelly surface he had just gone through.
"Sadly once you are though the barrier, the only way out is to be given a quest or return home at the end of summer." The centaur explained.
"Oh, that's fine! I'm on a quest! A quest to get to space camp!" Danny declared and tried once more to sink through the barrier, even going so far as to try his intangibility. However he only managed to warp the barrier about a foot before he was flung back a few meters. There was a green sticky note on his forehead when he sat up.
There will always be time for space camp. Have fun with your new relatives SON. :)
~CW / Kronos
"Yeah... that smile is a threat." Danny Mumbled as he looked up to the field full of whatever half bloods were. Some were obvious, like the half goats and the half horse, the leafy people were probably half plant. He couldn’t be sure about all of the human looking people though.
He watched as all of them lowered their weapons and seemed to pale, even the previously unamused man with a diet cola can. They were all staring at him like he'd just kicked a box of kittens into a well. Some kept glancing from him to just above him and back in awe.
Hesitantly Danny looked up to see a neon green hourglass glowing above his head. An hourglass filled with grain and embossed with a scythe.
"He's been claimed by Kronos!" Someone exclaimed.
"How is that possible?" Another muttered and suddenly the shocked silence was broken and the crowd was all talking over one another with questions and denials.
Danny glared from the note to the glowing hourglass. "YOU OWE ME! If your sticking me with your messed up family for the summer, this had better be the BEST space camp of my life!" Danny yelled to the sky.
Jack: What do you want Alfred: Son, please- Jack: Not your son. Not since you walked out on Mom to go to jolly old England. How's that going, by the way? I heard you walked out on your daughter there, too. Alfred: I know I wasn't the best Father, and you have no reason to forgive me, but this is a matter of life and Death. Jack: Oh, big surprise, good old Dad only comes around when he needs something. How about some tea and biscuits while we're at it? Alfred: Please listen. A few hours ago, the Justice League was compromised. Batman was able to send me a coded message that they were being mind-controlled by ghosts before he was captured. You and your wife are the only known contacts for Phantom. The world needs his help before the Justice League goes on a planned massacre. Jack: ....Fine, but only because thousands of innocent people could get hurt. *Turns to shout up the stairs* Danny! Can you come down here?! Alfred: We don't have time for your kids. We must move before- Jack: Unlike you, I always have time for my kids, but no, this isn't just a moment when you met your grandson. You need Phantom, don't you? Alfred: Yes? Jack: Then you need Danny. Danny: Did you need me, Dad? *looks at door* Who's this? Jack: The man who would rather be a butler/nanny to someone's kid than be a decent Father. Also, your new teammate for the upcoming battle. We're going to punch Batman in his dad-stealing face. Danny shifting into Phantom: FINALLY.
not that I disagree with Danny, in fact I fully support him, but what exactly did Batman do to earn such excitement about being able to punch him in the face?
I'd give it 50/50 on it being either Danny's petty tendencies, anti ecto act related, or Vlad-the-frootloop similarities. Aka richer than god jerks with a vampire/bat aesthetic and a lab underneath their house.
Frankly I was thinking Danny holding his dad’s grudge (multi-gen grudges exist and grew up in one) with the knowledge that
1) Bruce Wayne is Batman
2) the rich boy chose Alfred over his cousins (The Kanes) to raise him
3) entitled richboy is why dad grew up with Grandma Fenton who had a Shit Time as a ‘Fallen Woman’ whose husband left her and it was a shitty time being one of two kids (julia pennyworth is younger here) who had to step up where his dad didn’t and hear constant remarks about his ‘good for nothing father’ and heard about his own father parenting a rich kid Who Had Options
4) julia is friends with bruce and may have low-key disowned Jack for his interest in ecto-science… so Bruce stole his dad AND the baby sister he raised throughout his childhood (parallels’ jazz).
5) danny? Holds a grudge and knows all of the above. He’s been waiting for an excuse to drop kick the metaphorical deadweight in the family Forever. Let him at the dad and sister theif!!!
6) bruce is Rich, Secret ID, and vampire aesthetic. Given Vlad, why would he not take the opportunity to blow off Vlad-related stress on a socially acceptable target?
Also Danny tends to get along well with his Dad and view this as family bonding, plus avenging a member of his fraid!
Alfred has to explain Julia’s older brother, Jack, to Bruce… who insisted everyone follow his parents will as a kid and made himself ungovernable if anyone but Alfred was in charge of him.
Alfred was only going to Butler for the Waynes temporarily as a favor to Thomas from the war for a few months. He got custody of Bruce and left his wife and kids instead.
JL finding out Bruce as a kid ‘broke up Agent A’s family, befriended his daughter and low key replaced the son after his sister disowned him’ is not the lore Bruce or the JL was expecting.
Nor for Phantom to fly over to Agent A’s son and babble to his dad that he ‘got the dad thief!’ And be given a head lock and affectionate nuggy-ing.
Phanton glaring at agent A when he tries to talk to him as ‘my grandpa died and the other one forfieted rights when he picked a shithead kid that had relatives asking for custody and stayed there permanently when it was supposed to be only for spring. I only recognize Clockpa and Great Uncle Nocturne these days. Cordially, fuck off,’ in a chipper midwestern accent.
Jack just calls his son over and asks if he wants to go dimension hopping with his sisters again, and ‘do you want Dan to tagalong?’
Booster chokes as Dan Phantom is a known timeline and universe death bringer.
‘Why not? Ooo, want to go to the Colosseum? Pandora wants to see if she can fix the aim issue you and Jazz have, and Frighty wants to test Dani’s stab and stealth again.’
dude youre making this vivisection really difficult can you just like stay still
what the fuck happens in danny phantom.

DP x DC Prompt — Damian Wayne Successfully Acquires A Normal Friend (Catastrophic Outcome)
Danny Fenton is in Gotham.
Yes, that Gotham.
Different universe. Long story.
Clockwork had gently suggested that if Danny intended to one day ascend as High King of the Infinite Realms, he should probably gain cross-dimensional experience first. Education. Cultural exposure. Leadership preparation.
So now Danny is finishing school in Gotham before moving on with his life—
—or afterlife.
The problem is the students.
Everyone is rich.
Not normal rich. Not “my parents own a business” rich.
More like private jets, political connections, and generational emotional damage rich.
Danny tries being friendly.
He smiles. Offers help with homework. Starts conversations.
Nothing works.
Nobody cares unless you’re useful to their future.
Which would almost be funny if it weren’t so lonely.
Because objectively?
Danny is the single greatest networking opportunity in existence.
Future ruler of an infinite dimension. Diplomatic authority over the afterlife. Personal acquaintance of time itself.
And no one wants to sit with him at lunch.
Enter Damian Wayne.
One of Damian’s brothers — who definitely thinks he’s hilarious — jokes that Damian has never had a normal civilian friendship in his life.
“If you had to make one,” the brother says casually, gesturing across the cafeteria, “you wouldn’t even know where to start. Try that guy. He looks harmless.”
It’s a joke.
Damian does not understand jokes when honor is involved.
He accepts the challenge immediately.
Not because Danny is a target.
Simply because Damian Wayne refuses to fail at anything.
Including friendship.
There are misunderstandings.
Damian assumes Danny’s politeness is strategic maneuvering. Danny assumes Damian’s intensity is just Gotham culture.
But somehow… they get along.
Danny treats Damian like an equal without fear or awe. Damian discovers Danny listens without judgment.
They start sitting together.
Studying together.
Talking.
And Damian, internally victorious, decides to present Danny to his family as proof that he can maintain a perfectly normal civilian friendship.
Danny meets the Waynes.
Alfred adores him within minutes.
Tim ends up in a three-hour debate about physics and metaphysics.
Bruce finds Danny oddly insightful and far too perceptive for a teenager.
Dick immediately adopts him socially.
Jason laughs — actually laughs — for the first time in weeks.
And Danny treats Damian like a person instead of a weapon or a legacy.
For months, the Batfamily agrees on one thing:
Danny Fenton is the only normal person at this table.
Then Tim finds Danny’s university admission essay saved on a shared tablet.
The title reads:
“Why Clowns Should Not Be Granted Human Rights: A Case Study.”
There are citations.
Charts.
Historical references.
A section labeled “Observed Behavioral Patterns.”
Jason reads the entire thing in silence.
Then looks up, deeply moved.
“I have found scripture.”
Bruce develops a migraine instantly.
Damian has never felt more validated in his life.
And the Batfamily realizes, all at once—
Danny Fenton is absolutely not normal.
