There’s something so beautiful about season 1 Olivia being a wallflower and watching the Beverly crew from the outside, crushing on Spencer silently and to herself to seeing the both of them finding a quiet moment with each other during their wedding, watching the community celebrate them and their love. Like we talk about Spencer getting the girl a lot but Olivia really got the guy. She got her happy ending. I love this for her sooo much

Seeing Michael Evans Behling actually fix his fingers to comfortably type that Spencer won’t get his celebration in the grandest way while implying that the audience should be satisfied with that lets me know exactly how they feel about Spencer’s character. Like the agenda I’ve been talking about, that comment confirmed everything to me. It’s a problem for them that Spencer, his relationship and his story in general is bigger than anything else on this show and they’ve become comfortably delusional with the way NK has framed this show since season 4. She has filled their heads so much to believe that “ensemble” bullshit, so much so that they actually believe people should be ok with Spencer getting sidelined despite whatever else is going on in their respective storylines. He’s mad people don’t care about the wedding because of how they did Spencer last episode because the way they see it, we should be fine with it because it works out in the end. Spencer gets drafted but the moment shouldn’t be bigger than his. I really can’t do anything but laugh

Y’all actually don’t understand how much that episode pissed me off last night. Because it was going great and then she lost the plot. And you know what’s crazy I would’ve overlooked the stupid Asher thing if she did right by Spencer. Because he wanted a chance to say goodbye to football on his own terms… ok whatever. But it’s the time and effort that she put into that storyline to prioritize it over Spencer getting to celebrate HIS WIN. That’s what rubs me the wrong way about her. Her incessant need to put things above what and who is actually important for this show. You can’t have the first half of the episode be about Spencer reminiscing, visiting his old fields, reconnecting with Chris and making a connection with Shawn about how important this game is for him and then not even making an effort to show how not only winning the game, but Spencer making the game winning touchdown is a celebration for all of them. She had Spencer and Jordan clapping for Asher scoring a touchdown and saluting him when THEY won and she couldn’t even show their supporters celebrate them??? That’s not fair bro idc how you try to twist it. I needed to see Spencer and Olivia kiss on the field, Spencer and Grace, Coop and Chris hug and say how proud they are. Even Spencer visiting Shawn’s grave since he was the push Spencer needed to quell his nerves and remember the dream. But instead she prioritized Patience’s case when she wasn’t even in the episode, Jordan and Layla saying for the thousandth time they’re not ready for marriage and Jaymee jumping on Asher in the 2x4 box house in Crenshaw. If any episode this season needed to prioritize Spencer it was this one. Yes I’m taking offense I don’t care. I hate that woman

Can I explain why I love Spencer James so much? It won’t take long. HE’S NICE. How he talks to people? Is just so comforting and it’s why people feel warmth from him. For a main character, this man is consistently and genuinely so kind. He leads with kindness and compassion and understanding first and then you gotta push him. It’s not like you have to have him COME AROUND to support you. He supports first. He leans towards love first. That’s a good man
