Ronan sighed lightly as he closed the window again. Part of him wanted to say that Lass needn’t worry about his home being booby-trapped, or the staff of the Erudon estate being less than trustworthy, but he knew how cautious his friend was.
“Good to hear!” He replied as he strode along beside Lass, his tone lighthearted. “As for things to eat, the stew I was working on earlier should be nearly finished, if you’re willing to wait for me to ladle it out.” He paused in thought as they walked, looking contemplative for a moment. “It’s my first time trying this particular Ellian recipe, so I’d love your opinion on it.”
He nods to Ronan before peering at the large pot sitting on the stove. This could feed at least five people. So much food…
“Ellian?” Lass asks, intrigued. He sniffs the pot and notices the vaguely familiar scent wafting from the pot. The thief tries to place what kind of stew Ronan could be making—the name is on the tip of his tongue but he can’t quite remember it… Hm. In any case, gives him an excuse.
“That will, of course, entail extensive taste testing. You know, for reasons.” Lass says, all posturing and businesslike. He sniffs and pretends to wipe his nose. “Two servings of that stew sound good enough.”
To get the full flavor profile, of course.
Ronan couldn’t help but smile slowly wider as Lass made a fuss over the pot. “Extensive taste testing, of course.” He chuckled, rolling up his sleeves before retrieving a bowl for him. Despite the other’s naturally guarded demeanor, he could clearly recognize the eager gleam in Lass’ eye toward the cookpot. It was no secret after all how much the Chase as a whole enjoyed Ronan’s cooking.
Ladling out a bowlful carefully, he gently placed it on the table before his friend.
“Enjoy~!” He beamed, though he looked contemplative for a moment. “I was debating on adding a bit more of some ingredients... but I’d very much appreciate a second opinion before I go tampering with the recipe too much.” He laughed sheepishly.
