   A year ago I wrote a story on young Spencer Reid who had just graduated college… at the age of sixteen! It is rare for such a young student to fulfill their undergraduate but to go on the following year and achieve his doctorate degree in Mathematics the next is a bit unheard of.

   "I’m thinking this next year I’ll go for either Chemistry or Engineering. I haven’t deciced where I want to focus my energy just yet,“ says the young super-genius. When I ask why he chose Cal Tech over MIT and Standford, he quickly runs down a list of Professors he had a desire to study with. He makes no mention of the weather or girls.

   "There was a week or two where I thought I might go to Yale to study the Classics,” he says, “But then I realized I’ve already read everything they teach in the curriculum.” Sound absurd? It is, until you remember he can read 20,000 words per minute. How does that skill translate to math equations, I ask. “Surprisingly well,” he says, “Once you’ve taught one part of your brain to concentrate to focus, it frees up energy in another part of your brain which can give you a certain lucidity, Time

can i just say, i love that this is the moment eddie chose to call him evan for the first time because it just means so much. the name buck is linked to his firefighter “persona”. being buck, as athena said, is never giving up. it’s always fighting, caring for people, saving them. but evan? evan is the broken kid, the one who never thought he was enough, the one who thinks it would have been better if he was the one who got shot. buck knows “buck” matters. buck saves lives, he’s a hero. it’s evan he thinks doesn’t matter, it’s evan he thinks is expandable. and eddie knows that, and right there and then he’s telling him evan matters as well, and he is not expandable. he loves buck, but he also loves evan and i’m just. fuck

10. Their 1st talk in the hospital and the moment Eddie realized he needed to tell Buck about his will because this boy needs to know how important he is, goddamnit. 

11. Buck being the one to pick up Eddie in the hospital while there were more logical choices if they were telling a heterosexual story. 

12. Actual co-parents confirmed. 

13. HE KNOWS BUCK AND HE KNOWS HE WILL FIGHT FOR HIS/THEIR SON.

14. “You’re not expendable.”

Why did I make this list? To see all the evidence before my eyes in which I am not a clown and their behaviour in this episode alone would be enough to convince me of buddie. Which brings me back to something I mentioned earlier today, in which I feel they kept the hetero in this episode to show that while it’s building, they’re not there yet. Plus pining, jealousy, realization… It made little sense to me why else they would let Eddie doubt his relationship with A*a to just bury that in the next episode. I don’t know if that makes sense or if I’m just clowning extra hard today.

The press conference had gone rather well, the usual turn out – big stations and local stations. JJ had delivered the profile and Reid had added specific information relevant to the situation. They were looking like they could bring it to a close when a woman with a red microphone held up her hand. JJ pointed to her but the womans attention rested solely on Reid.

“Doctor Reid, I have a question from social media,” she opened with.

Reid nodded. “Sure,” and straightened his posture, ready and willing to give all the necessary information and caution to whatever it was the people of social media were concerned about.

“Are you dating?”

A mixture of snickering and disgruntled groans rose from the crowd of press.

For a brief moment, Reid was at a pause – replaying the question in his head again. Then finally, “sorry?”

“Are you single?” the reporter clarified without missing a beat, eager for the answer.

“Um,” he looked across to JJ now with furrowed brows, then back to the reporter, “what does that—”

“Alright, I think we’ll end it there,” JJ jumped in, patting Reid on the shoulder. “Thanks everyone. As always, if anyone has any relevant questions,” she glanced at the female reporter with the red microphone, “to the case they can contact the FBI hotline for more information. Thank you.”

With a little nudge from JJ, Reid headed back into the police precinct.

When they met up with the rest of their team, Hotch immediately caught JJ’s attention.

“How’d it go?” Hotch asked, sparing a glance now to a disgruntled Reid lingering behind her.
