‘Criminal Minds’: Damon Gupton Cast As New Regular After Thomas Gibson’s Exit

Criminal Minds’ Behavioural Analysis Unit will no longer be a man down. The veteran CBS crime drama has cast Damon Gupton (Empire) as a new series regular.

Gupton’s addition will help fill the void left by the abrupt departure of original star Thomas Gibson, though Gupton’s character will not be a direct replacement for Gibson’s Hotch, who led the BAU. The new head of the unit will be revealed on the show and is expected to come within.

Gupton will play Special Agent Stephen Walker from the Behavioural Analysis Program which is the counterintelligence division of the FBI. He’s a seasoned profiler who will bring his spy-hunting skill set to the BAU. Walker will be introduced in the eighth episode of Criminal Minds’ current 12th season.
