i donât think itâs possible to watch the shoes scene without smiling
yâall if I sent a risky text and didnât get a response yet, Iâd be gone đ
okAY but what if robbe does make an MI comment about his mom in front of sander, but itâs in a supportive nature
Looking at the wtfock tumblr tag is the worst decision I have ever made. I used to be a casual viewer who wasnât occupied with insta post patterns, crack ships and theories that change every second and now here I am, part of this shitshow of a circus.
robbe and sanderâs ship name should be sobbe cause i am constantly sobbing about them
senne is the best willhELm and thatâs a fact
if you think about the fact that TODAY is the international day for the elimination of violence against women, this hits on a whole new level
WELL FUCKING DONE
that robbe / yasmina friendship really never developed this season đ
another thing that gets me upset is that ik how hard it is for members of the lgbtq+ community to show affection to their significant other in public , and right when Robbe and Sander did just that, this happens. that confidence can take so long to get back and thatâs genuinely upsetting . and if wtfock is doing all this for ârealism,â then it wouldnât make sense for there to be a quick fix for either character and Iâm just so curious as to what they plan to do with the storyline :( .
i understand that it was important to show this for some to become âawareâ, but omg it hurt so much . also i donât think showing the violence without a trigger warning was appropriate . for anyone who wants to say , life doesnât have a trigger warning or this is for realism, please stop. its a show that people go to to feel happiness and maybe regular tv show drama... not to feel disturbed.
okay so I was definitely disappointed at first when i found out Mohammed wasnât religious anymore. but the storyline they gave him to show why he wasnât religious was a pretty important topic to discuss. sometimes people experience horrible things and it weakens their faith, which is completely valid and understandable. now that amira understands this, their relationship is even stronger.
i feel like with the other sana seasons, the yousefs were just not Muslim and that became the stronger focal point for the sanas. but with druck, they continued to dig deeper which is why this season feels so realistic and magical altogether.
itâs also nice to see a wholesome young Muslim couple in the media. ik it feels sort of tabboo in real life, but theyâre showing it in a very âhalalâ way and I know there remains to be differing opinions on this topic.
Druck really respects their hijabi Muslim character and it shows. I wonât name names but Iâm so thankful for druck not repeating the tired trope of âMuslim girl falls in love with white guy and removes her hijab to show she is empoweredâ. I donât know if people know how much Sana and Amiraâs character mean in mainstream western media where Muslim representation is very little, and when it is there itâs mostly the Muslim character rejecting their faith, which perfectly encapsulates what Western audiences think of Muslims and Islam. I know druck and skam arenât and werenât perfect, but they try and honestly their Muslim representation is something Iâve never seen in a single Western show before and itâs shame more people donât know about it.
Little Elite review (spoilers ahead )
I finished elite last night and let me just tell you overview I loved the season all together. It was elite. Like for real. But here is what disapointed me.. Nadia and Guzman.
I know a lot of people will come at me with the âoh but but why didnât yâall hate on Omar in season one...why is it Nadia gets the shit for what she did when Omar didntâ like bro as a Muslim myself let me tell you Omar made it pretty clear in season 1 that he didnât give a shit and that he basically didnât consider himself a Muslim to start of with. Nadia on the other hand was a girl who made is PRETTY OBVIOUS that she was solely devoted to her religion and family and made it clear that nothing would change that..not even her attraction to Guzman
But to see Nadia not only throwing that away but throwing away basic girl morals of knowing that Guzman was dating Lu at the time really triggers me. It was the last thing I expected from Nadia.
Nadia in season one was a charecter that truly related to most Muslim girls out there, girls that have to deal with societyâs pressures and ideas of oppression and keeping their morals through moments that for many others are as simple as having a crush on a boy. Season 1 Nadia chose her education, family and beliefs above all..to see all of that switch so easily makes me sad.
What also made me sad was that it felt like Nadia did that out of sympathy for Guzmanâs state and wanted to only protect him from that druggie life.. like we didnât even see romantic moments between them like in season 1 ? we only see them arguing then bam they are making out?
The end of the season we saw Nadia breaking down infront of her parents about how she believes she has done them wrong but that came off as fear of disappointing them rather than belief that she had done something against her morals so Iâm actually pretty interested to see how that will play out in season 3. Especially that I felt like their relationship was so forced considering Guzman was mainly focused on his sisterâs death and we didnât Guzman and Nadia having a single civil conversation that is not about her snapping him out of his drug habits.
*sees the new clip is called winterberg* *skips through the clip to see if Amira is there* *she is not* *closes tab*
