I got back from therapy today singing The Fantasticks soon its going to rain. It's a lovely song about two people in love who know are determine to build up a wall around them protecting themselves from what ever may come. Although I am single, I take the song very much to heart. I know there are things that will still be thrown my way and i am so very much determined to build up my shelter to protect myself from the rain. But i am very careful not to build a single person home, I'll make sure it fits two. :)

I think we tend to misconstrue the idea of “love of my life” and “soul mate.” I found my soul mate, and her name is Karina. She is my best friend and sister. And I have claimed her as my soul mate the day I met her. We connected instantly, laughed at the same jokes, spoke each others thoughts, finished each others sentences, said the dumbest things, and made the silliest faces. I know the difference between soul mate love and love of my life love. Something most people mix up. Which is why most (“lesbian”) girls get their heart broken because they think they are in love with their best friend.

I have found my soul mate, and now I’m looking for the love of my life. Those two things are so completely different, they don’t entitle the same things. I don’t need to find another person who finishes my sentences or who thinks the same random thoughts I do. I need someone who gives me butterflies, makes my heart skip a beat, and completes my world.
