'The Filipino youth are right here, on the cusp of greatness, brimming with idealism, and poised to make the Philippines a better place' - Angela Sebastian, from “An Open Letter to the Filipino Youth”
Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to cover YouthHack Manila’s Start Up Challenge 2015 in Xavier School. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch Day 1′s speakers, but at least I got to listen the different teams’ pitches on Day 2!
It’s amazing to see students churn out ideas that can potentially solve our nation’s most pressing problems. There’s so much promise in our youth!
Kudos to the YouthHack MNL organizing team for this event!
Side note: I also met younger members of the Pisay community through this competition. It’s great to see how they aspire to integrate STEM, entrepreneurship and social action. :) Man, now I’m wishing YouthHack existed when I was still in High School! Haha!
