When they started over did they start from the very beginning? Could you tell anything was wrong or did it all run smoothly after? I’m so fascinated with live theater, the cast/crews are all so talented!

Hi! Yes they just started from the beginning- they stopped the play just 5 minutes in so they weren't redoing much! All ran smoothly after :) didn't even notice anything was wrong the first time until they stopped it! but when they did it again you could see they'd stopped because the lighting and screen hadn't been turning on when it was supposed to

How was the play? Do you mind giving a spoiler free review.

It was SO entertaining!! Just keeps you on the edge of your seat with the production and acting - it's so immersive. Mostly I was just so in love with how romantic it was- Tom and Fran's chemistry was just ugggh it always felt like the audience were not supposed to be watching their whispered lines to eachother- their scenes together were so beautiful and heart breaking. Really hit the nail on the head with the audience feeling like they're getting a glimpses into lovers' secret embraces and confessions to eachother.

It also just confirmed to me that the 1 or 2 stupid Hollywood reviewers that said Tom was 'disappointing' 100% just have a vendetta against him/want clickbait because there's no way you could watch his performance as Romeo and think he wasn't a perfect casting choice. The ENTIRE cast actually were so perfect and were all on each others level of being brilliant actors.

Also so many of Tom's lines as Romeo were sooo loving and romantic just ugh you know Zendaya LOVED watching him act out those lines. And when ladies were swooning over him saying the lady who has him as a husband is lucky indeed... YUP! You know Z was grinning haha.

Overall I loved it, it was genuinely scary and incredibly tense at some parts, the chemistry of the cast was just so immersive that when the story unfolds it is genuinely tragic and heartbreaking. Fran and Tom were just my favourite parts- genuinely can't express how lovely their chemistry was, got me smiling the whole time and laughing at so many parts!! And Tom's transformation from this lovesick swooning boy into absolute rage and sorrow was just... amazing, 10/10. Feel SO lucky I got to see it and not disappointed at all from my high expectations! There's no way anyone can go see that play and not think the cast were incredible. The only thing I can see people criticising is if they came in expecting a classic portrayal of a Romeo and Juliet play... Jamie's Llyod's style of production can be like marmite to some as its so unique and stripped bare. But I love the style like many others because it's modern and for the youth, it makes classic tales feel more real set in the now. And the fact there are no props or sets, it's all JUST the actors acting.... I love that and it really shows their talent.

Was just a technical issue! Sorted after 20 minutes- in intermission now and ahhh it's so entertaining and so romantic- some of the lines Tom says has me grinning so hard liiike I know Z LOVED watching this play :D (also love listening to all the tomdayas before and in between acts)

Yes all ok! I think was just a staging issue- they sorted after 20 minutes and in intermission now! Its amaaaizng so entertaining and scary and ROMANTIC, got me giggling and kicking my feet
