she’s finally finished!! this has been in the works for like nine months now, but i wanted only the best so she truly feels like my baby after all the time and work that went into it.

i wish i could have found a way to include more of the gotham/batfamily side of things in this since thats literally the premise, but honestly i have so many batman binds peter deserves a bind all to himself 🖤

this is one of my all time favorite fics ever and i knew as soon as i read it that i would have to make a bind worthy of it and i’m pretty happy with it! i actually scraped my entire original design that i came up with back in like january when the last chapter came out because i realized it just wasn’t the direction i wanted to go with it. so when i couldn’t find anything that really matched what i had in mind for the chapter number designs and headers i drew my own. please be kind, abstract goop is not my usual style lol

anyways! everyone should read this and check out @spidey-art ‘s art because it’s beautiful and they were so kind as to let me use it for this bind!!!

I didn't believe it at first but after watching the show, Dead Boy Detectives was so obviously crafted to be catnip for the Tumblr girlies(gn), cause like. Homoerotic ghost detectives. Sassy psychics. Weird girls. Witches. A literal cat king. Sad twink that's actually a crow. Hot goth lesbian butchers. Slowburn ft. immortal beings. Gay confessions in hell. This show was crafted in a lab for us, and I LOVE IT. Go watch it if you haven't already.

Talk Shop Tuesday: what’s the piece that you’re most proud of, and why?

This one is hard 😅 partly bc I don't usually get that attached to the final product of my art for whatever reason, and partly because I've made an absurd amount of fanart for this fandom I don't remember it all off the top of my head. But the first one that comes to mind is this one

I like that it's kinda "weird" as far as fanart goes. The dialogue is a little on the nose but for a single panel it works. I like that you can decide who is saying this to him. I like that I think the idea comes across that they love him and are simultaneously exhausted by his inability to stop martyring himself. But mostly sad? It's also personal bc I've worked in a helping career my entire life, and I've both been the person who basically self harms with work as a way to earn self worth AND healed/self reflected/changed to become the person on the other side to know how exhausting/sad it can be to watch loved ones and peers destroy themselves, and know that they are the only ones who can decide to stop.

talk shop tuesday (if you want!): when you draw a character, do you feel like there’s a specific “story” behind them in your mind? Does that inform your art?

Aw thanks! It depends. Sometimes I have a specific story I'm my head, sometimes a vague one, and sometimes I'm driven by the visual appeal alone. I'd say more often than not telling an emotional story with pose/color is the main goal.

First of all - I love your art so much! You're a huge inspiration for my own personal art journey. Every time I need motivation I just look at your beautiful art and I then I just want to draw, want to get better, want to be able to create something like you do <3

For the question that I have: when I post my art here on tumblr, it seems quite blurry. Only when you click on the pic, the quality gets better. Your artwork always seems so crisp and clear. What canvas size do you use? Or do you have another tip to post better quality pics here on tumblr?

Im not totally sure because I've never experienced blurry pics on Tumblr but it definitely could be your image size? I always work at a minimum of 300 dpi.

Ah, I'm sorry, I don't. But thank you for asking! Very occasionally I'll post that I'm taking prompts for a couple hours though. And I haven't done that in a while so maybe I'll do that soon if my personal life ever decides to chill.
