âSiblingâ Rivalry // Vriska and Terezi
Terezi was definitely being more cordial then she had been the last time they were face to face. The typical stream of insults and one-upmanship ever present as they bantered back and forth. Vriska respected her. Which was quite a bit more then she could say about any of her other fussy friends. But even with the respect she held, she was in no way willing to submit or put her pride away long enough to listen to orders like some trained bark beast. If that was what Terezi expected from this exchange, she had another thing coming.
âNo need to explain yourself, Pyrope. You missed me! You couldnât stay away and here you have the means to quite literally force my company.â She snickered, watching Tereziâs wrist twitch quickly as she spun her cane and walked them both to the entrance. Vriska had been in Tereziâs hive before. Always brief visits, but enough that the scene before her mixed with the tell tale smell of Pyrope caused quite a bit of nostalgia to strike her. âSettled in? Why, arenât you the courteous host! Here I was expecting you to make me spit clean your floor, or color arrange your scalemates.â While sarcasm laced her voice, she HAD expected the teal blood to put her to work immediately. Fuck, thatâs what she would have done. As a matter of fact it would be HILARIOUS to watch her on her hands and knees scrubbing the floor. Which is why it was almost unsettling that Terezi was being so⊠cordial?Â
The more cordial tone was definitely intentional on Tereziâs part. Â The behavior wasnât going to last the whole time she was here- in time things would go right back to the typical sharp-tongued banter they so often shared. Â The only difference would be she could make Vriska do something humiliating whenever she wanted. Â Of course, she wouldnât be cooperative with any of the orders she was given, but if Terezi could get her to do at least a couple things while she was under her command, itâd be even better.
âWow, youâre good. Youâve always been able to just read me like a book, havenât you?  Very impressive as usual.â  Snarky as the comeback wasâŠshe was a little right.  Terezi did want to see what having Vriskaâs company again after these few sweeps would be like, and renting her would be a great way to make that happen.  Itâd just come with added perks.  As the two of them entered the hive, she pushed the door closed with her cane, planting it on the ground as the other made her statement, chuckling under her breath.  âOh, the temptation was there, but you should know Iâm not one to just jump into things like that.  Weâll just have to see if Iâve got anything for you to do later on!â  Would Vriska see right through her and work out that she had something planned?  Probably, but thatâd just get her even more focused on wondering what she was planning- an idea the blind troll relished greatly.
âFlattery so soon? I must have caught you in a good mood. How fortunate of me!â Near predatory eyes watched Terezi closely. This was out of character. This was a game and she wasnât keep on losing, especially to an old rival. Pyrope had always had her appeal, physically she was all unforgiving angles, and while it was easy to underestimate her, Vriska has seen her her achieve feats that would give wrigglers nightmares. Still, she was always unpredictable. A constant pendulum that either resembled a snake about to strike, or an old friend. It was off putting, in the least. Always causing the cerulean blood to be on her toes lest she wanted to get bitten. Even so, Tereziâs words had an after taste. One that she wasnât sure whether she should anticipate or dread because fuck the potential was a flip of the coin. âWeâll see if you have anything for me to do later on? We both know that you wouldnât have had me brought to your hive if there wasnât a set agenda. You donât play chance without knowing the outcome. So tell me, Pyrope. What exactly do you want me for?â She sat on the nearest chair and tapped her fingers in mock anticipation. She was curious. Gods she was so curious but if Terezi caught on to her, what, giddiness? Excitement? At FINALLY being around someone who was a competition. She wouldnât let her live it down. Sheâd be so fucking smug and Vriska couldnât allow the only entertaining person in this god damn shit hole the satisfaction of riling her up in such a way.
