“did you see many creatures when you came through the forest?” okoye asked as she looked over at the man, a brow raised curiously as they walked through the abandoned hospital. it was eerie, to say the least. okoye paused in front of one of the beds, picking up a teddy bear that had been left on it. she sighed. “whatever happened here must have been terrible.” she said softly, setting the bear back down before muttering a quiet prayer. “my name is okoye, by the way. i believe i forgot to introduce myself earlier. i hope we find something helpful here.”

okoye hummed as she looked at the seemingly destroyed building in front of them. “come. i suppose it would not hurt to check.” she said to her companion, her face and tone devoid of emotion as she glanced at the other, and then headed off in the direction of the building. she held her spear in a defensive position, just in case there was anything hostile inside. “we should be cautious. we do not know what could be in here.”

ℙℚ ➸ RICHARD RIDER !

Richard was on alert, it had been a while since he needed to use his Nova powers since Mera was pretty tame and had enough heroes so he was almost on vacation. His inner monolog was questioning why he wasn’t on a beach with a mai tai but he quickly snapped back into reality when Quill started talking. “I’m so glad I’m with such a great hero like you Starlord.” He chuckled flying up to get a larger scope of the area but even with his night vision, there was still faint darkness over the area leaving him unaware to where they were heading to. “Do you have a compass?” He yelled down.

“awh shucks, rich, you’ll make me blush,” quill said with a laugh as he grinned over at the other. “glad to be with you too, buddy.” he replied, watching as the other flew up into the air before he continued to scope out the area from the ground. “huh?” he called back. “oh! compass? ah... i think so! hold on.” he pulled his backpack around so he could rummage through it before he eventually found a compass at the bottom of it. “yep!” he yelled back, activating the jets on his boots to fly up to richard, holding the item out to him. “can’t believe i’ve still got that thing. i like, never use it.” he chuckled.

RJ realizes now that admitting such a part about his life could be considered worrisome for others. He was glad that the woman didn’t push any questions on it. While she was nice, he doesn’t want anyone else to worry about him. He doesn’t know if he deserves that kindness yet. “Anywhere can be dangerous. I think it has more so to be about certain locations than the city itself. Awful people tend to group together at times. I do think it’s important to know how to defend yourself, especially in New York.” The boy admits with a smile. He even laughs! It feels good to do so RJ decides. “It must be a wild turn of events, but you two get along well. I’m glad he’s around too. He’s better than I deserve, but I’m selfish — I’ll take it.”

“certain locations, and the people in it,” karen nodded her head. her mind goes to wilson fisk -- all of the people he’d corrupted, usually with money, or just with threats and blackmail. she thinks of how she spent many months before... well, all of this, scared that one day he’d show up at her door, or one of his goons, wanting her head on a platter. she felt lucky that none of those people seemed to be on meraviglia. the last thing she would ever want is her daughter in more danger than she already seemed to be on with all that was already going on. “i grew up in a small town. the cliche ‘leave your doors unlocked at night’ kind. they get into this mindset that bad things don’t happen. or that they only happen in the cities. of course they’re wrong. i think it’s important to know how to protect yourself no matter where you are as well.” she smiled. “it is a little wild, but... i’m enjoying it. honestly, some practice is better than none. and having you, steve and frank around is helpful too, of course. i think i’ve always had a soft spot for kids. don’t think i ever pictured myself as a mother, but...” she shrugged, chuckling softly. “penny is a welcome surprise.”

“We’re very real. It’s in the deep ocean hidden away. It’s not easy to get to.” Garth knows that it was hard for the average human to get to the deeper depths of the ocean regardless, but exploring it to find the city was another thing. “I’ll assist you. It’ll be interesting to see more of this place. Lead the way — I’ll follow you.” He says with a grin as he gestures ahead of him. 

“yeah, i don’t know many -- or rather, any, apart from you -- people who can breathe under water. much less any that would have a reason to go that deep.” colleen chuckled as she gestured for him to follow as she headed off in the direction of the lake. “so... you got any sort of powers, apart from being able to breathe underwater? sorry if that’s a weird question. i’m curious.”

“Gross. I don’t even want to think about cannibalism, dude.” Which is all Rictor has to say about it. The thought makes him cringe, but he figures that’s the point. Although he doesn’t necessarily find it very funny. He isn’t surprised since this was a very Wade joke. “What’s with everyone and stabbing? You and Shatterstar I swear —“ He crosses his arms as he looks around the empty streets.

“you don’t? well, you’re no fun.” wade huffed, only half joking. he knew the subject, and his jokes in general, weren’t considered very funny to others. they were usually messed up jokes coming from a messed up mind, and he tended to be the only one who ever laughed at them. he shrugs it off. he’s used to his dark sense of humor going unappreciated. “stabbing’s fun! have you ever stabbed someone? you wanna? seriously, stab me. maybe you’ll see why people like to stab so much.”

“Yes this territory is quite unfamiliar to me or anyone else, after all, I’d rather be safe than sorry” He replied softly knowing that being alone on an unknown planet never worked out for anyone. It was how he’d been forced into a killers life when he was just a child. He nodded his head moving towards the first building he pointed out before smiling softly “ Nice to meet you, Billy, My name is Reikor, and I don’t doubt that I’m pretty well known around Meraviglia.” He paused shaking his head “Afraid not, I’ve been to plenty other planets but never this one.” 

“ditto,”  billy replied, giving the other a small smile. “yeah, i’ve... mostly kept to myself. haven’t had to use my powers on the offense in a long while. though i guess part of me always expected to have to go back to this kind of stuff, but... the break was nice.” he shrugged his shoulders, rambling. “ah... yeah, i guess this isn’t the kind of planet one would go to casually. do you know what happened here? to make it like this? i mean, thanos didn’t do this stuff, did he?”

“You sound very sure of that. You got a plan to make that happen?” Val didn’t exactly mean to sound like a cynical, but her voice just sounded like that these days. If someone had a plan she would be grateful. Less for her to do, the better. “Even if they realize we are gone, are they going to have the manpower to come save us? They won’t even know what happened to us. Why risk it?” Val had not been on the planet very long, but she wasn’t sure if they natives were going to want to risk their lives for strangers.  She could hope, but what good would it do? Eventually let her down just like most things in her life. “Oh we will? Last time that doesn’t seemed to have gone so well.” She gestured out towards the burning city. “I don’t know if we even have anyone strong enough to go against him, unless of course you know an Elder.”

“no, i don’t... i don’t have a plan. i’m working on that part. but it doesn’t hurt to stay optimistic. i don’t think being a debbie downer would help anybody.” she shrugged her shoulders, sighing. “there are others back home. apart from the meraviglian natives -- other people from our worlds. friends or family for some of us. they’d want to know what happened to us. they’d want to try to save us. and frankly, if the queens decide to not send a follow up team, i’d be pretty pissed. i have a son back on meraviglia. he’s three. i’ll be damned if anyone will let him think i’m dead, or that my wife is dead. we didn’t have to do this mission, we volunteered to. it’s only right that they send someone to help us.” she rambled, trying not to let her anger at the very idea of nobody coming to help them get the better of her. “no, i don’t know an elder, whatever that is. we need to kill him. and get it right this time. we can do it.”

Hal was grateful his signing seemed to actually be understood, it’d been so long since he had to use this skill. He watched the male and realized how much clearer and confident his signing was. He found himself agreeing with his words before signing back “I would agree, the lack of commutation should alert our friends back home. Yes, actually I can, I’m a Green Lantern, it’s our job to protect many different planets, and our powers allow us space travel.”

“a green lantern, huh? can’t say i’m familiar with you guys. i’m an avenger. doesn’t give me any special powers like your group sounds, but...” he trailed off, shrugging his shoulders. “yeah, could be useful as a last minute option. how long would it take you? at least if you do go, you could let them know what’s going on, and come back with another ship... probably worth bringing up to the group to see what we all think is best.” he rambled. “for now, would you want to scavenge with me? might be worth while if we can find something useful.”

peter’s head felt as if it were going to explode. ever since they’d stepped foot in the forest, it’d been a non-stop cycle of being on edge, even more so than before, and of his senses warning him of things that he couldn’t yet see. he felt as if something was watching them, but he had no idea what it was, or where it was, much less what it wanted. holding his head, he groaned out, stumbling back for a second. then, for a moment, it stopped. silence.

he sighed, relieved. the silence is short lived as it takes barely a minute for him to notice something darting out from the shadows towards tony. “mr. stark!” he exclaimed, his eyes wide as he used his webs to propel himself towards the creature, kicking it in the face and away from them both. moving back to tony, he stares up at his father figure mentor with wide eyes. “are you okay?” he asks before his gaze quickly shifts to the dark of the forest around them. “we’re probably outnumbered,”

“woah!” peter exclaimed as he dodged out of the creature that came at him, eyes wide as he watched it’s movements carefully, scrambling out of the way of attacks and occasionally shooting webs towards it. it had followed him out of the woods and onto the bridge, where they were now scrapping, with peter doing his best to not fall off the damn thing, or worse, make it collapse as a whole. 

it tackles him to the ground, making him fall to his back with a small ‘oof’, but before it can sink it’s claws into his suit, and thus his suit, his senses begin to blare. out of the corner of his eye, he spots another person. “hey, buddy,” he grins. “what’s your take on head trauma?” he quips, before it’s hit on the head and falls off the bridge. out of breath, he lays on the bridge, panting. “can’t say i didn’t warn ya,” he mumbles, chuckling, before he glances at natasha. “thanks,” he smiled. “thought i was a goner for a second... again.”

𝕃𝕆 ➸ MAZIKEEN SMITH !

“this nightclub sucks,“ maze muttered under her breath as she looked over lucifer’s new project on the alien planet. she had admittedly been worried at the beginning that since they were somewhere far removed from earth and the heavenly and hell realms that they wouldn’t be as powerful as they were used to, but…

maze seemed to still have her strength, skills, and seeming immortality. all of which was incredibly nice to have. turning to head back behind the bar, she promptly ran into someone, sighing and rolling her eyes, she reached out to shove them aside. “move or i’ll disembowel you.” she paused, hearing the annoying voice of decker in her mind chastising her. forcing a smile, she held her threatening gaze, making the smile seem more like a snarl. “please.”

loki often found herself feeling as if there were very little things to do for fun on this planet. tonight, she’d wound up at some sort of club. loud music pumped on the speakers -- something that reminded her of midgard -- and it was fairly packed, on top of it all.  she’d danced for a while, but eventually got bored of that and began to make her way through the crowd. 

it was then that she walked into another person, and she was about to shrug it off and walk away when she heard a threat from the other woman. loki chuckled, a mischievious grin forming on her face as she looked at her, raising a dagger that had magically appeared in her hand. “i would like to see you try,” she smirked, though she lowered the dagger slightly despite her better judgement. “perhaps it would be more worth our time to not try to stab each other -- though, i am happy to do that if you wish, as i am quite good when it comes to that. just ask my brother, thor, -- but instead grab a drink? hm?”

When Barry ran he had few things on his mind, food mostly but also his friends the family he has made throughout his years of being the Flash and Barry Allen. He hadn’t heard from anyone on the league who volunteered so the least he could do was rebuild the planet one home at a time. The speedster was stopped by a familiar face, “Not when our friends are hurtling through space to the unknown and we don’t even know when the next attack will be on us.” He was on edge, to say the least. Barry was always overdramatic even he would admit it at times but the anxiety and stress were eating him away the only thing that eased the pain is the wind chill on his face the pavement beneath his feet. “Sorry.” He snapped out of his head. “It’s just been a tough week.” an understatement.

“i personally wouldn’t call them friends, but i see your concern. i understand it. not for them as a whole, but for my wife. harley.” pamela knew she came off as cold-hearted at times, but she couldn’t help it. it was her nature by now, something she’d become quite accustomed to. shutting people out. “it’s been tough for everyone, i’m sure.” she sighed. “especially those on that planet. but i suppose we should try to have faith that they will find a way to contact us or return home. even if it’s something i’m not personally used to. but if you’re concerned about an attack on us, perhaps you should consider saving your energy for that instead of spending it all on repairing the city. as noble of a cause as it is, it might not matter if we’re all killed.”

“well, un-complicate it, then -“ if there was one thing that annoyed stephen the most was the assumption that he wouldn’t understand something. he wasn’t an idiot, far from it - and if it had to do anything with magic, then he was likely to understand it. “so your magic comes from your mutations? is that what it is? interesting, i know of a mutant with sorcery as well - though there are many, many mutants.” he gave him a small smile. “my abilities come from practice, i am human but i’ve earned my place as this universe’s sorcerer supreme.” he stood and floated his way to the boy. “and you are very correct, it is the right thing to do.” he nodded, “which means we will need to find a way to get a ship and return back to our new home and hope that it has not been touched by thanos.”

“alright -- i’m one of reincarnated sons of wanda maximoff. the scarlet witch. but not the one here. pretty sure we’re from different universes... or something like that, at least. timelines, realities. i guess there’s a lot of words for what it could be. anyway -- my brother’s abilities are like quicksilver’s. mine are like her’s. is she the mutant you mentioned?” he asks with a raised brow. “oh, wait, are you doctor strange? i’ve run into you-but-not-you back home. now that i think about it, i probably should’ve noticed the resemblance sooner.” he tilted his head to the side slightly before he shrugged his shoulders. “‘cept he’s got these white strips in his hair.” he explained, pausing for a moment, thanos and meraviglia flooding back into his mind as he’d gotten so distracted for a brief moment that he’d forgotten all about that. “shoot. yeah. you’ve got magic, right? and if my mom-- i mean, wanda, is here as well, so does she. and so do i. maybe we could work together to do something. anything.”

The boy was trying to stay occupied, which is how he ended up coming to the archery range. He knew how to use a bow of course, but it wasn’t his preference. He preferred a blade or a good gun in his hand. RJ does want everyone to come back safe, but mostly Bucky. He has grown to care about him, and him volunteering was brave. Should he have done the same? Although there’s no way Steve would have let him. He still has an injury after all.

His gaze watches as knife after knife is thrown at the target. He’s amazed, like he as in a trance. The boy looking up realizing he was being talked to now. “No. I don’t know anything more than you do — which is concerning.” RJ frowns for a moment. “You worried about someone too?” He asks as he flips his own knife around in his hand.

“my brother. thor. but do not tell him i said that. i doubt he would ever let it go.” she sighed, though for a split second, a smile breaks across her face at the thought of her brother. “i am sure they will be alright. hopefully. the lot of them -- i believe most of them are heroes. they will find a way. it is what they do, is it not?” she shrugged her shoulders. 

turning back to glance at him, she eyes the knife in his hand curiously. “would you like a go?” she asks, gesturing towards the targets before using her magic to pull all of her other daggers out of one of the targets. they hang there midair for a second before disappearing. “i am assuming you have somebody you care for on that mission as well. perhaps this will help distract you from that.”
