I have to write smth cause I want to perform at my school's poetry slam but it's in a week or so and I had absolutely no inspiration and I wanted to let u know that ur blog rly inspired me and helped me have some ideas for what to write abt!! I try to express myself through poetry, but it's all in my head. I don't know how to write. I just let things come to my mind, but they're just thoughts. No one understands me and it is one of the most unique and expressive feelings ever, yet one of the loneliest.
All I can tell you is write. Write no matter what it is! I can assure you it's not a bad as you think. Often we assume that the worse about ourselves when it's not even true!
Write to write. Write because you need to write. Write to settle the rage within you. Write with an internal purpose. Write about something or someone that means so much to you, that you don’t care others think.

Wandering spirit, flowing through this life aimlessly this world, so vast but it can’t amount to this immense world held within carried away by my thoughts I tend to leave this place discovering different dimensions connecting with higher entities dancing through this tragedy, my pain often goes unnoticed I found myself along a dark path immersed in unwanted feelings masked by my ignorance I allowed myself to feel pain the darkness swallowed me whole as I wept in silence how beautiful it is that our past shapes us into the beings we live to be how everything flows accordingly leading us to fulfilling our destiny I am balanced, I’ve discovered my center my powers consist of many discovering my capabilities daily what I am unable to do intrigues me the meaning of life no longer haunts me In the end we shall all return to star dust returning all that we borrowed from the universe. Peace is not hard to obtain awakened by a whisper “Focus yourself, for everything you need lies within”
tumblr’s plagiarism problem
you know what really pisses me off? just really kicks me into a damn frenzy of frothing rage & despondency? the insidious culture of plagiarism on this website. what really frustrates me, is not just that it exists - people looking to rip you off are everywhere, but that its become so acceptable to the point of expectation. these days, i expect to be stolen from. the amount of times i’ve seen it happen to me, friends of mine, or complete strangers is overwhelming. & those are just the ones i’ve caught.
to be clear - because apparently this needs to be outlined, plagiarism is not just taking someone else’s work under your own name. it includes appropriating aspects of their work without permission from the author. a helpful definition from wikipedia:
plagiarism is the wrongful appropriation and stealing and publication of another author’s language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions and the representation of them as one’s own original work.
to seemingly “”by pass”” the issue of plagiarism i’ve noticed this strange trend of people linking the source with a sorry little “inspired by” or some variation thereof. i’m guessing some people have the thinking that by informing your audience who you’re stealing from, this does not outright constitute as stealing. i’m here to helpfully tell you, you’re wrong! you want to create for yourself a grey area from which you’re free to do whatever you want? let me make it real black & white for you: there exists a very very fine line between being inspired by someone’s work & plainly using their style, form, & subject matter to write your own knock off. this is plagiarism. this is stealing someone else’s work. writers on tumblr are among some of the most vulnerable, & most of us do not have massive followings or name recognition that might protect some of the more well known of tumblr’s writing community. those who participate in the shameless theft of our work know this. you take advantage of our vulnerability. it’s really difficult to feel safe contributing any kind of creative content on here when made aware of this. not only does this culture need to stop, immediately, but so does any kind of complacency. if you see it happening, tell the author. if you’re worried you might be doing it, same goes. there’s no excuse for it. a freebie: under no circumstances should you be posting anything “inspired by” unless first getting direct, explicit permission from the author. i’m so tired of seeing fellow writers getting repeatedly ripped off, tired that this has become an acceptable practice.
