I am currently working on a full series project called Tear Tree Friends (TTF), a fan comic of HTF.There's an ask/update blog @tear-tree-friends which you can ask anytime whether I can answer or not unless you prefer to ask here on my main.Other than that, I have many other projects to work on along that so these may take a while to start releasing pages.
I've been dying to speculate and theorise about them. This is probably going to be long so as always this is going under a cut!
So, the concrete information we do have on them is that their name is Bone Drone and this render.
I seperate this from what I call, 'speculative information' meaning that it isn't confirmed, but there's been whispers of it among the fandom. The speculative information that we have is that they will be voiced by Michael Kovach, and that they use any pronouns - Due to this, I will be using 'they' throughout this post to avoid confusion with switching up pronouns, but rest assured I do absolutely love any pronouns Bone Drone! (They're just like me in that regard!! :D)
So with that out of the way, let's look at their design!
The first obvious thing to note is the symbol for whatever broadcast both WPNZ and Puzzles seem to witness seems to be directly tied to Bone Drone, as it appears not once, but seemingly twice in their design -
From this we can infer that they're likely tied to a larger group / organisation, and here's where I have a theory:
They are not the only 'Bone Drone', there are multiple of them. To me, 'Bone Drone' reads less like a name, and more like a rank / class within a group, like a Goomba from Mario or something?
They're definitely unique enough to be the main one, IF there's multiple of them, but as for how this'll play into the story / world of CAV / whatever group they may be part of? I don't know man, I'm a 20 year old NEET on tumblr, not a fucking fortune teller.
I will say though, that if the 'Drone' part of their name is more like a rank in a larger group, they don't exactly sound very high up. 'Drone' reads more like some kind of soldier, or something?
The next thing I want to talk about is how they're even alive in the first place.
Bear with me a sec as I try to explain here, but I don't think Bone Drone is, 'naturally' a skeleton-person. There is something inherently unnatural about their appearance, it doesn't matter what dimension this is. They look more like a mish-mash of metal parts and bone, more frankenstein's monster-esque than any other character! So how are they even alive?
My answer is necromancy!!! Kind of. I don't think any actual, MAGIC necromancy was used to bring them to life, but I think it's a more scientific take on the concept of raising the dead, and it has everything to do with that tank on their back:
And, once again, bear with me for a moment, this may seem like an unrelated side tangent, but I promise it's relevant!
How familiar are you with Invader Zim?
If your answer is, 'not at all', then you're in luck! Invader Zim has been one of my special interests since I was 13 years old.
The titular character, Zim, has a backpack - Every member of the Irken species does! This backpack is referred to as their 'PAK' in-universe, and if it's damaged, destroyed, or removed, after ten minutes, the Irken dies, as it essentially functions as their brain.
I think we're dealing with a similar situation here. I think that whatever that thing on their back is, it's what brought them to life, and what's keeping them alive!
The reason I think this is because if you look at their pelvis and shoulder, it looks like it's emitting some kind of glow, in a similar color to their eyes. You could argue that maybe it wasn't intentional and this image of them comes from a scene with pink lighting? But at the same time I feel like they'd... Check that before showing off the character?
So, all in all, yeah, I think that we're dealing with a similar thing to Zim's PAK from Invader Zim.
This final thing isn't exactly linked to Bone Drone, moreso WPNZ, but BD, or the potential organisation / group they work for, will probably have a part to play in it:

so here's the news:
I may be soon diagnosed with skin cancer.
this is something that's been bothering me for, like a WHILE. I just now am finally getting the courage to have it checked, get all the appointments and such done, and from what I've been told, there's basically a very good chance that I'm dealing with a cancerous melanoma.
fortunately I am looking into getting it treated ASAP... this is a kind of cancer that can spread to other parts of the body at any given time, and that prospect terrifies me.
so... yeah, that's the scoop...
hopefully things will be okay! I'm remaining hopeful through this all, and that's all I can really do in the wait!
rest assured: I will NOT be stopping my work on my projects, I know how much you guys adore Beyond the Veil and such. we're working on it. life's been a bitch lately, and I do apologize for it.
