“no. that’s not how to do it,” bellatrix commented simply, without making any move to help the first year slytherin a small distance away from her to pronounce the spell better. instead, she flipped through her book absentmindedly, thinking about what a disaster her last attempt to conjure up a patronus had been. when the midget attempted to wordlessly ask her for help, she took out her wand and pointed it at him, raising a single eyebrow threateningly, daring him to take another step. he didn’t; he scurried off and left her in peace. “next?” she said mockingly.
Lily eyed the interaction from her short distance away. How the Slytherin house had any sense of loyalty to itself was beyond her. She wasn’t even particularly sure how Severus had lasted as long as he had with the snakes, given the cut throat mentality a majority of their upperclassmen seemed to exhibit.
“I wouldn’t expect a ‘next’ after a display like that,” Lily commented, being lost in thought distracting her from filtering her own commentary. The poor first year was already out of sight, but the arrogance to think someone else would want similar treatment had hit her apparently.
