i love when movies are trying to be a 9/10 on the disturbing scale but the quality of the script/movie itself is like 4/10 so it bumps the disturbing down to like 1/10 by virtue of being meaningless and boring

idk if anyone's talked about this or mentioned it before -

I'm watching John Wolfe's play-through for Funger1 and as he's reading aloud the first book of Alll-mer, something occured to me that i don't know if any of the big lore youtubers have mentioned

Alll-mer is a christ-like figure but he is also an anti-christ. I think that's why the time loops happen and the world resets until a new ascended god, well, ascends.

it's mentioned that Alll-mer is born of a virgin mother and "false god", and there's a lot of stuff out there already about the Sulphur god being Alll-mer.

They're the same being. Alll-mer is the "Face" and Sulphur is the "Shadow". Alll-mer puts the world back in "The old order" which later leads to the events of the New Gods trying to "take over" and starts the time loops.

I theorize that this was all done on purpose to essentially set up/feed the Sulphur god long-term.

Termina is essentially a Sulphur festival using the traces of Rher to incite chaos that the sulphur cult takes advantage of, and if you kill all the other contestants you have the option to join the cult as well.

This is the "shadow" events of the Termina festival, it's hiding behind Rher's face this time.

I also think the reason that you cannot find and use empty scrolls in Termina is because you're too far from Alll-mer's body, or perhaps he's just gone completely.

I think Fear & Hunger is a post-apocalypse, but further back than it shows in game.

The fear & hunger games are so artfully bleak and haunting and set in such a richly creative, familiar-yet-unfamiliar universe of pure dread and misery, they feel like they should be older than the very existence of video games, like the creator truly tapped into some deeply buried pit that all humanity's bad dreams come from. so it's very funny when the second game hits you with a boss fight against a trash talking furry.

i want to clarify that i'm not really romanticizing this dynamic, it was kind of the whole point. 😓 the theme here isn't romance but rather delusion. i tried to make samarie unsettling and marina unusually cutesy to mimic samarie's POV to get that point across but i'm not sure if i was successful.
