who tells your story (who? who tells the story of the wives, of Furiosa and the unlikely allies in Max and Nux? who tells the story of the citadels liberation from Joe? Furiosa? Furiosa wouldn’t care about telling the story, she cared that it happened and she has to focus on what will happen, what might happen. is it Capable? does she spend time amongst the war boys and war pups, learning their names and telling them in a soft voice what happened on the fury road when their pain becomes too much? what about Toast? does she ask the war boys to teach her to fight? does she practice loading and unloading and putting together and pulling apart guns and does she open up over time to the others doing the same? or the Dag? does she employ the help of war boys in her garden, getting them to help her set it up, digging the earth with her and as she plants and waters she talks, almost to herself? was it Cheedo? does she remind herself every day that they are not things, does she realise that the war boys are not things to be used either and they deserve to know? did the wretched see Furiosa, Max, Cheedo, Capable, the Dag, Toast, the surviving many mothers and decided to tell a story for them?)

I think Angharad is seriously under-appreciated. To me, she is actually the most badass character in the film: barefoot, pregnant, wearing pretty much only a bedsheet, standing up to a hostile stranger, THROWING HERSELF IN FRONT OF A LOADED GUN TO PROTECT HER COMRADES. She’s also always the first to physically respond in the situation – grabbing Max’s chain and cutting another after he’s hit.

Person anecdote: I feel a strange affection for/connection to her that is weirdly sensitive. I previously confessed about about leaving an abusive relationship with the help of an older and wiser female friend who means the world to me (“Miss Giddy/Cheedo”). I had a month of nightmares about being manipulated or imprisoned by an abusive lover, and in one of them which was particularly bloody and violent, Angharad showed up to help me escape. I usually don’t talk about dreams because usually most people don’t care, but I felt like the fandom might appreciate this.
