This pinned post is gonna change a lot!

so basically i Know i'm not equipped to do a whole big long comic series, which was originally the plan for this blog, but i still want to tell the story of my ocs and practice making comics! So instead of doing a single really long series, i plan to just have fun with a bunch of vaguely connected one-off bite-sized comics! :3

which means i might do things out of order and comics will vary in just how canonical they are to my ocs and everything. now this post here serves as a lil navigation area for all those comics to come! :3 (if i ever do get to making them that is,,,) so yeah! i hope u enjoy my messy silly doodle comics about my blorbos :3c

oh man this blog has been gathering dust.. anyway hey do you guys wanna know about sandra’s toic yuri ex? she’s super evil and fucked up but also really pretty

uuuuh anyway here’s what i have about them in my oc lore bible teehee!

sandra’s family’s too busy focusing on eldest and youngest that sandra never got too much attention so they look for it n she finds it in keera. this stinky rotten oh so sweet love. that they have to sit and obey and jump through hoops to get. oh but when they win matches together and keera rewards her. oh cod it’s just so. So addicting. “i don’t care if you don’t mean it, please just say you love me”

ok so when keera and sandra start dating. they're like microcelebrities in local pro turf circles. the princess and her knight is what they're called. upcoming prodigies in the turf scene. the princess with sharp eyes that track the enemies' every move and an even sharper brain to plan and strategize on the spot, and her unbending knight able to outmanuever any opponent, always referred to as her knight, never their own character. they plow their way through matches, making their way up the ranks. they do lots of duo league together for their sponsorships n almost always go on win streaks. and when they dont,, well. teehee

she keeps sandra in line with little flicks to the forehead n pulls on the ear. also at the start of their relationship she’d playfully punch sandra in the shoulder but as time went on she’d start putting like, genuine force behind the punches whenever she was pissed about something, even if it wasn’t sandra she was mad at. and sandra just got used to it, they’d wear longsleeves to hide whenever it bruised so that their public power couple image wouldn’t be destroyed.

sandra wears glasses, she kinda needs them to see ghksjfg but they can survive without it. she used to wear them all the time before her pro turf days, up until they were dating keera. one time the two were on a date and keera nonchalantly mentions that sandra looks better without the glasses (she actually mentions is bc she thinks the glasses messes with their whole aesthetic as a couple hskjgf), so they slowly stop wearing the glasses when they don’t really need it, which is really most of the time when they aren’t reading hskjdfg. that’s why sandra doesn’t wear their glasses a lot even after she breaks up with keera.

kelpshot (one of their other turf teammates) drags sandra out of the relationship n tries to talk some sense into her but she just doesn't get it. and it becomes this whole issue within their team. and just out of nowhere a switch flips and keera is uninterested. there's drama now so she needs to find a new plaything. so she just up n leaves. it takes Forever for sandra to get over it. how could she just leave them like that? a princess needs a knight by her side at all times doesn’t she? who were they supposed to follow now?

by the last half of making this comic i was really struggling to get it done, there were a lot of times where i considered dropping out of the zine 😭😭 but i didn't!!! i pushed myself to finish it before the release date! and i'm really glad i did!!!!! ALSO!! HUGE SHOUTOUT TO SHUSHI AND ROSEGOLDDOODLE FOR HELPING ME COLOUR THIS COMIC Y'ALL ARE LIFESAVERS DEAR COD 💥💥💥💥💥💥

this zine has taught me so much!! and i'm already working on my next one! >:3c not a comic though T^T but i'm so excited to apply what i've learned!!! and i'm even more excited to show everyone my piece once it comes out!!!! :D

tHEY'RE SO CUUUTE WHAT THE HELL 😭😭😭😭 i think this might be my fav spread of the whole comic :3c but also it has the most boring panelling and it only became obvious to me after i coloured everything in 💥💥 graah i really wanna become better a making comics!!! this one in particular was a huge wakeup call for me and smacked me in the face n said ooohoh buddy you've still got a loong way to go. so huge thanks to classified love zine for helping me start walkin!! >:D

but yyeah! that's that! first comic of this blog whew -w- i'm already working on the main comic! but it'll probably be forever until i actually start to like. post itt :// but! when i do get to it! i'll be posting pages that i finish Immeadiately to kofi members! n then queue it up here on the tumblr :]

so i'll be makin a post here abt the kofi memberships thing bc it isn't open yet! :0 but when i do open it! if you join you'll be able to see the comic pages as soon as they're finished! :D and also get to put your own splat ocs in the comic when i need silly lil bg characters! :3c i'll probably just have the memberships at like,, maybe $3 or $5 a monthh? it's really just an early access thingy ig :]

oobhf katie's poor knuckles :'( idk if telephones like that are easy to break but let's just assume it was pretty fucked up. i mean cmon you guys see it in octo canyon the body is literally teal from the oxidation, and since it's green it has coppperrr i thinkk?? n that's like, a soft metal right? fuck man idk let's just say she got some extra strength from her special!!

oh yeah her special! so the artbook (i don't rember which one but i think it was the first) mentioned that specials are activated when inklings have heightened emotions right! so! that's what's happening here! and i really wish people took advantage of it more bc!!! i want more splatoon ship comics where the special's shwing!! is used more! bc like! how cute would that be! totally stoic character rlly good at keeping a poker face but their hair is SUPER shiny shimmery flailing all around like COME ON PEOPLE WE NEED TO CAPITALIZE ON THIS

honestly feel like these r the weaker pages of the comic but maybe that's just bc i don't vibe w the colours idk. it was a bit hard picking out what looked good.

oh also! i hope it came across well! on page 8! that's a splashdown!! yknow with the indicator and the (shitty) ink armor starting to coat the hand n stuff! did that come across? i genuinely would like to know so i can draw special's better :3
