Okay so the judges and I have been reading over your entries for the past few days and voting on them and it has been so hard to pick the winners. Seriously, the quality of the writing was so freaking high it was unreal. I'm amazed by the talent we've had writing for us this year. But eventually (after a lot of squabbling) we came to a decision and it is my great pleasure to announce the winners of SPN Femslash Week's first fic contest!

A week isn't enough. How does a month sound? Or maybe all of summer. Or just all of next year, celebrating femslash. That'd be nice.

That would be awesome, huh? :3

Is there a fact, variable, thing, (or whatever you want to call it), that will give certain fics an advantage? For example; notes, word count, characters, theme, etc? I just wanna know since it's almost over and how the judging will go/contest winners will get chosen. thanks :)

The fics are judged by how much the judges enjoy them and the quality of the writing. There are five of us and we each read all the fics and give them a mark out of 10 and tally up the counts to see which fics have the highest score. That'll help narrow down the fics so we have a select few to choose from. The judging on that part will be more of a debate amongst ourselves until we come to a consensus of what we deem to be "the best" fic.

This is the fairest method I could think of lol. If we can't make a firm decision, then maybe we'll open a poll up to you guys so you can vote on your favourite. We'll see when we get there. :)

SPNFEMSLASH WEEK- THE END

Unfortunately, this is the official post to let you know that SPN femslash week has come to an end. :( Yeah, I know, I'm sad too.

But wow, you guys. This week has been phenomenal. I didn't anticipate we'd have so much participation and support. You've all been absolutely incredible and your work and effort blew me away. I've had so much fun with organising and running this project and I hope you guys have had fun too.

Now about the fic contest. The judges and I are currently reading through your entries and we'll be picking the winners over the course of the weekend. When we've decided, we'll let the winners know personally and make a post announcing them on the blog.

If you've written a fic for the contest but it doesn't appear in the entries list for either drabbles or fic, please let me know no later than monday. I really don't want to miss any of your work out and I'd like to make sure everyone gets a fair shot at the contest.

Prizes will be given out afterwards but that's really all we have left to wrap up which is pretty sad because I've honestly had such an awesome time. And that's all thanks to you guys, whether you wrote something, made a graphic/gif or just reblogged, this week has been fucking brilliant because of you. Thank you so, so much.

Also, I'd like to extend a huge thanks to the lovely Cat for helping me with this. Her support, beautiful graphics and ideas have been immeasurable and I honestly couldn't have even started this project without her. Thank you, bb<33

And hey, if there's enough interest- if you guys want another- I would be more than happy to organise another one of these in the future. SPNfemslashweek12, anyone?
