I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?
Don't become a housewife.
And if you do become a housewife, take steps to protect yourself. Make sure youâre legally married, for starters; stay-at-home girlfriends have very little legal recourse to claim their partnerâs assets in a breakup. Make sure your name is on the house deed/rental agreement, and have your car in your name, even if your spouse is paying for it. Have your spouse transfer money every month into an account solely in your name, so you can buy yourself things without needing permission, but also so you can save up to leave if needed.
If your spouse fights you on any of this, then donât quit your job. The tradwife to poverty pipeline is real, and so is financial abuse.
also, many women/people experience controlling behaviour and domestic violence from their partner for the first time during pregnancy. donât risk thinking âheâs just stressed, itâll get better when the baby comesâ because it wonât. neither you and your child will ever be safe with that man. get out as early and safely as you can
THEMMMM
"Who cares what you were when you were younger? It's who you grew into that makes you who you are." -Danny Fenton in Bitter Reunions about Vlad and only Vlad, this theme does not apply to any other character but Vlad, all three main characters have a villain episode or two but they're redeemable and Vlad isn't, please don't think too hard about the themes in this show the writers are begging you--
Not on the topic of the original post, but
Prev reblog:
This made me wonder, why does TUE insist on pretending that Danny's family and friends died because Danny cheated on the test, and not because the Nasty Burger employees were irresponsible? It's like that thought runs through the entire episode, but it's just nonsense. Mr. Lancer could have just as easily invited Jack and Maddie to Nasty Burger to discuss, say, how Jazz got the best test score ever and how great she is; would that make Jazz responsible for her parents' deaths? What nonsense. Damn. I never thought about that before.
(UPD: I probably should have made a separate post, but I thought about it only after I reblogged it, sorry đ)
Letâs not forget how in the very next episode where Vlad put literal nanobots into Jazzâs bloodstream and threatened to kill her if she acted out of turn, that plotline never went anywhere but whatever. Idk if Jazz still has those in her either.
The next time we see Vlad heâs making and killing clones of Danny, it was like the writers gave any Vlad fans at the time hope for something but never wanted to reward them with it.
Given how Vlad acted in the episodes beyond TUE it wouldnât surprise me if his own recollection of the events that took place in TUE were made up to make him look better, Vlad has NEVER been a reliable narrator and after 10 years he could just as easily start to misremember things or believe in his own version of events. Be it from guilt or years of isolation.
The above is simply my views on the story given his behaviour beyond that episode btw, had he acted a bit less maniacal and showed remorse then fair. The âall I wanted was loveâ line was the closest we got to that.
A lot of the writing got lost after S1 set up a lot of things, or was just straight up forgotten about (Living Large vs Killer Garage Sale), so it doesnât surprise me that S2 decided to switch gears on certain characters and S3 was written by an entirely new team who barely watched any of the previous episodes or were simply given briefs on them. So Vladâs arc goes from one extreme to another.
Apparently Steve Marmelâs season 3 would have had more planned writing had he stayed on, I believe he had said it was all written out and planned but Butch (of course) didnât agree with where he was headed with it. So weâll never get to see where Vlad was headed in the latter half of S2 according to the head writerâs vision, instead we got goofy-S3 Vlad who died after being hit by a space rock.
Vlad was a character that could have gone in so many directions that the show said âhey letâs just throw him around and see what landsâ.
â
Also, it wasnât the employeeâs negligence that blew up the Nasty Burger.
Dannyâs first fight with Box Lunch caused an explosion which closed the restaurant down due to the damage done, it also put the test answers in his hands. The Nasty Burger was then closed due to the damage to the building so the employees were not there to keep anything in check.
Dannyâs next fight with Skulktech is what pushed the heaters against the vats, again the place is closed from the damage earlier, so the staff were not on the premises.
Clockwork caused the place to blow up because he sent 2 ghosts from the future after Danny.
You know, Butch Hartman likely didn't want to give Vlad any "complex personality" at all. He wanted to keep Vlad as a cartoonish villain without any depth. Someone who's just evil because he's evil. This is evident in ALL his words, ideas, and drawings since the show's end. (Have you seen this? It's some kind of childish fan fiction)
That's probably why we see Vlad in completely different ways, depending on who had the most influence on the episode. One moment, he's concocting a complex plan to defeat Pariah Dark, the next, he's cowardly running away from Vortex. One moment, he's saying he "realized what an idiot he was" while tenderly stroking a photo of him with Maddie AND Jack, the next, he's ruining Jack's life in a world where the incident never even happened and acting like an asshole.
I love that Vlad is an asshole too, I just wish he had something more than just that.
â
And regarding TUE...
...
Wait, fucking minute. But then... the explosion at Nasty Burger shouldn't have happened at all. Clockwork sent the ghosts because Dan's timeline ALREADY happened, and since he sent Box Lunch and Skulktech, it's an alternate timeline he changed, not Dan's past, since the attack of these ghosts also led to a change in the futureâ
And it can't be some kind of time loop because Clockwork would have seen that his own actions led to Dan's appearance and simply wouldn't have done it.
...I think too much, sorry, haha.
And English version
excalibur :)
Oh god the image of Merlin literally grabbing, cutting himself, and bleeding all over the symbol of Arthurâs power which is itself a weapon of Merlinâs making, itâs like doing something to my soul. All while Arthur holds the hilt out toward Merlin and the blade towards himself. What a perfect analogy for Arthurâs legacy.
