I have an idea... today, why don't we all smile at everyone we see and make eye contact as we do it? I bet that most people will smile back at you. At the least, they will smile, after they pass you because you took the time to connect with them, even if it was just for a moment or two... I do this most of the time, and it's a great feeling to see how many smiles I get in return. You can make it a game and keep score so you know what kind of positive impact something as simple and easy to give as a smile can make in the lives of others and in your life, too. Maybe, we can change the world one smile at a time... whaddaya think? I'm gonna do it, how about you? ✨️😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 I feel happier, already!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁✨️

I took this video, at 8am... if you listen very, very closely, you can hear colors being played, in the background, at the Navy base. Every morning, at 8am, they raise the flag, and they play the national anthem, as part of the ceremony. This is called colors. When you're on base, and you hear the signal for colors, you stop whatever you're doing, immediately, and turn in the direction of the flag. You place your right hand over your heart. People stop moving, cars stop driving, and everyone pays their respects to the flag. Once the song is over, another sound signifies the end of colors, and everyone resumes what they were doing. It's very cool to experience this on base. I hear colors every night, too, at sunset... it's quite a moving thing for me... but I digress, and this time, I digressed in a major way, didn't I !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Every morning the hummingbirds come to share breakfast with Petey, me, and the other birds, in the yard. It's a cloudy, rainy day, today, with a slight breeze. You can see the hummingbird's feathers being ruffled by the wind... it's beautiful!!

I’ve heard that in Port Orchard too. Across the bay from the Naval shipyard. It’s amazing. They have one hell of a speaker system!!

This morning I had to get moving and get to Walmart while the geezer hours were still in effect. 😂

I spotted a couple pretty ditch items on the way back and had to pull over and snap.

This one ☝️ is Purple Loosestrife and it is an invasive plant and many years you see it all over the place. This year I have hardly seen any of it. I love this color and had to pull over to look.

The next one was right next to the right of this.

This one ☝️ is Chicory and this one has many flowers on it. These were next to another corn field.

Tis the season for zucchini! These zucchini patties are a great way to use all your neighbors zucchini. We like them with sour cream and salsa or Pico de gallo.

Mossy trees on our property. We average 55 inches of rain per year in Bremerton, WA., almost all from Nov. to April. The years 1998-99, we received over 80 inches, a record. Our summers are almost drought conditions.

The pic below was taken at the edge of the garden behind the house. It is a lone Morning Glory flower, a fighter. 🤜

At one time my ex had planted these next to a climbing trellis she had. After the divorce she took the trellis and the flowers started spreading all over where I didn’t want them, like weeds.

It has been 4 years now and I thought I had dug up all those bastards a year and a half ago. This guy here had been playing possum for the last year and finally made an appearance.

Guess who is going to taste the shovel soon 😂
