The problem with having OCs is that sometimes you wanna read about your little guy being in situations but unfortunately he is YOUR little guy and no one is gonna put him in that situation but you. Tragic.
an immortal who is covered in jewlery and trinkets and you think its because theyre materalistic but actually every little object is from someone they have deeply loved and refuse to forget
I'm so sorry for not posting art in forever. I've been struggling with a lack of motivation and uncomfortable physical issues that make drawing a real challenge, but I am slowly working on a few reference sheets for new OCs. In the meantime, here's some older Dexter art.
*Cracks knuckles* I've been waiting for this! I meant to finish it months ago but forgot and have been sick. ;-;
These are songs either related to specific Planes OCs or pairings because I've been thinking about these guys an awful lot lately.
About time I introduce these OCs without getting into way too much detail that it becomes excessively convoluted because the story of these three is basically split in two: their WoC life, and everything that came before.
In the WoC, Cassius is a Rockwell B-1B Lancer and Hyraxus is a Tupolev Tu-160M Blackjack. Prior to that, the duo were the last surviving members of a divine dynasty of conquerors and tyrants that were presumed extinct until these two were born through mysterious means. They had differing yet equally negative opinions on their ancestry (that they viewed as cursed bloodlines more than anything), but how they navigated their shared ancestral guilt eventually caused a catastrophic falling-out neither could return from or ever even wanted. They're pretty much alien dragon gods born from stars that killed each other, then got "reborn" and turned into talking planes. Cassius is the antithesis of their ancestry, yet plagued by self-loathing, perfectionism, doubt, and a quiet hatred for their own blood that morphs into reluctance, fear, and crushing guilt that everything is their own fault. Hyraxus is driven by a volatile blend of love and anger that morphs into heartbreak, resentment, and betrayal, still at war with a deep sense of devotion; all as someone who is ultimately at the mercy of their own heart.
Admittedly, I haven't thought much about how they interact after being put into the WoC. It's probably immensely awkward to say the least because after everything, they're sort of just... stuck there together.
Zoe D'Arcy is a firefighter with a past career as a sniper, and most importantly, a human (idk how they meet. Either Cass and Rax get thrown into the human world or she ends up in theirs). In her past life, she was the same species as Cassius and Hyraxus, her name was Nymera, and the trio were definitely a throuple yeah, it's introverted Cass between two very intense extroverts. She originally hated the two for their lineage due to the fact she lost her home because of their ancestors. Of the three, she was the first to die, doing so at the hands of Hyraxus, and is the whole reason the two are reborn as sentient aircraft on Earth in the first place.

Not "The Character did nothing wrong" or "The Character is irredeemably awful" but a secret third thing: The Character may display moments of deep love & compassion, may even have a strong sense of ethics, and may also be capable of brutal cruelty that is irreconcilable with those traits. The constant tension between the different sides of The Character's nature is exactly what makes them compelling, and attempting to reduce them down to simply "a terrible person" or "innocent & misunderstood" is missing the point of the questions a media with nuanced characters is asking you to consider
I personally hc that a lot of vehicle language is not verbal at all. they communicate through words but also through body language, blinkers and headlights/taillights (for cars), flight surface movements (aircraft), barks/growls/purrs, and engine sounds
whoops made a Planes OC <3 anyway, this is Jay! she's a washed up (kinda) aerobatics plane who's trying to figure out what to do next in her life :> still kinda has her head in the past, but knows it's not the way forward anymore!
It’s so funny to make headcanons for your own ocs because they COULD be canon but nah it would lowkey just be interesting if it was. Nothing at all is stopping me from making them canon but liek they’re just not. Schrödinger’s oc.
