iruka, about team 7: who’s in charge here?
kakashi, shrugging: usually whoever yells the loudest.
Sakura: Ino, can you make me coffee?
Ino: Sure, how do you like it?
Sakura: Sweet like me, obviously
Sakura:
Sakura: INO I CAN SEE YOU POURING SALT IN

Sakura's blush only worsened at the admission. She had said it mostly in jest, didn't believe it could be true because...wasn't it backwards? Him vying for her attention? Hadn't she been yearning for his this entire time? Upon realizing she was getting nowhere and that she was possibly doing more harm than good, pestering Sasuke...she had pulled back, tried immersing herself in work instead.
Tried keeping a friendly disposition and cordial relation but no more than that. It had never once occurred to the pinkette that the Uchiha might grow to miss her affection and presence. Or that following the war, despite his last rejection, there would be a change of heart taking place.
The kiss on her hand was almost enough to make Sakura check for genjutsu, despite all its impossiblity. "W-Well, I'm all ears then, Sasuke-kun." The fact that he had her stuttering was embarrassing at best.
So much for being a grown woman, shannaro.
"Is something the matter?"
Now, Sakura wasn't daft. The overall romantic air that had settled spoke for itself but her mind couldn't quite register those new developments as factual evidence for Sasuke returning her feelings just yet.
@ravensandshadows
Seeing her reactions only seemed to fill the Uchiha's mind with more questions then answers, especially as she seemed to both blush, but withdraw her hand, as if she was unwilling to allow it.
Taking a second to not overthink things, he wondering just how his little trick had probably made her feel, and to be fair, it probably would be extreme confusing for her, especially given how they both came up and Sakura's none too secret affections for him.
So, perhaps it was best to take this as slow as he could, to not risk alienating one person he actually truly cared for, and deeply at that.
He settled on just looking at her face, or whatever he could see as she buried herself in her work, either by instinct or in order to hide her extremely reddened cheeks.
"There's nothing wrong, actually. I just wanted to see you."
He paused, knowing that statement alone would spark another question. Sakura always seemed to be surprised whenever he gave her the smallest bit of attention, and again, that habit was strictly his own fault; an amalgamation of his own selfish decisions he's grown to look back on with annoyance.
She had ducked her head shyly, latching onto the closest object she could see nearby — a pen — just so she wouldn't feed the urge to keep holding onto Sasuke's hand instead. There was wishful thinking and then there was stupidity, of course. Sakura might have been naive and willfully ignorant in her childhood but those days were long gone.
She had grown up and matured since then–
Thud.
Sakura's eyes widened, fumbling to catch the pen in time only to fail and have it hit her desk anyway. She cringed but didn't bother to pick it up, trying to play the entire situation off by laughing — though it came out more nervous than anything else. "Ah, gomen ne, Sasuke-kun! For a split second back there, I thought I heard you say you wanted to see me just for the sake of it."
She pinched the skin between her brows and leaned back into her seat, massaging her temples tiredly. "That's what I get for missing out on sleep." she sighed.
His eyes were trained on the other, watching her not only perform a circus act with her pen, but seemingly playing it off by laughing and apologizing. While most could've watched her antics and simply shelved those antics as distraction tactics, or a coping mechanism - which it more then likely was - , Sasuke found himself humming in feint amusement. He simply found the whole thing...charming.
Now she was rubbing her temples? She just seemed all over the place! Stepping forward, he leaned towards her to get a better look at her pained face.
"Are you...alright? From the looks of things...you seem to be overworked again..." He observed, more then likely pointing at the extremely obvious.
"When was the last time you were able to take a vacation?"
The last thing Sakura had expected was for Sasuke to lean forward, breaching her personal bubble. The space between them shrank to the point where she struggled to recall the last time they had stood so close. Scratch that, had they ever? A small squeak of surprise escaped her, cheeks never quite getting the chance to recover. They retained a reddish hue.
She would have leaned back even further but nor her chair or desk allowed it. Sasuke's piercizing gaze was unavoidable. The question gave her pause, both because she didn't think she had ever taken a vacation and because he sounded...worried.
"Eto...I don't take vacations, Sasuke-kun. Ever since I started doing shifts at the hospital, I haven't had any." She had been fifteen at that time, she was turning eighteen next week... three years.
Time surely flies...
"I will be alright, a good night's rest will fix it." she tried reassuring him, moving to stand up only to be hit by a wave of vertigo. Sakura swayed, falling against Sasuke's chest.

“ are you okay? ” - Hana
Sakura looked up only to see a familiar face whom she recognized as Hana, Kiba's older sister. She ducked her head, embarassed, before wiping at her face furiously to get rid of all remaining tears. "Y-Yeah, I'm okay. Don't worry about me, Hana-san." It hadn't been her intention to cry in public, she just couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Got sand in my eyes from training, that's all." A blatant lie but she didn't want Kakashi-sensei hearing about this since she knew him and Hana to be dating.
She tried to smile as brightly as possible.

✋️ - Hold my muse’s hand (from @springwxrrior ) for Sasuke
Taking subtle peeks at his pink-haired teammate, distracted by her reading, Sasuke found himself sliding over next to her.
"Sakura... I noticed something on your hand. Do you mind if I took a look at it?" He asked, grabbing her hand and lifting it up before interlocking their fingers.
"...It was me."
Sakura had been unaware of Sasuke's close proximity, being much too focused on her reading to notice the heat radiating off his body as he suddenly joined her. She knew he was in the room, of course but had assumed he'd take his leave soon and thus went right back to work. Jade green eyes remained glued to the blocks of text up until he addressed her directly. "...Something on my hand?" she echoed softly, confused as she peered up at him only to watch as he grabbed her hand for no other reason than to hold it.
For a long moment, all Sakura could do was blink...and hope the blush on her cheeks wasn't as red as it felt. "Honestly, Sasuke-kun..." she shook her head, looking away quickly. "I expected this kind of behaviour from Sai." Him and his books. "Or Naruto." It was a corny enough move to fit the blond.
She kept their fingers interlocked, though.
"If you wanted to get my attention, consider it gotten..."
When do people see you?
they see you when you're immersed in something else
your beauty lies in your passion. you bloom when you become all wrapped up in things you love, you might stop perceiving people outside of your bubble but they admire you for your dedicated joy. don't start hiding too much, though, there are people who want to genuinely share your passions!

Sakura
❛ i didn’t know where else to go. ❜
--Sasuke
Sakura doesn't remember falling asleep, can't recall the exact moment her eyes fell shut. What she is acutely aware of at the moment however, is the sound of knuckles rapping against wood and thunder booming — the latter defeaning the former here and there. She jumps to her feet, blanket cast aside haphazardly with one end spilling off the couch and onto the floor as she rushes to open the door.
"Sasuke-kun!" comes out of the pinkette's mouth, eyebrows nearly reaching her hairline at the sight of him soaking wet. He was just about the last person she expected to see tonight — Kakashi-sensei and Naruto didn't mention a return and neither did he in his letters. Aside from that, Sakura didn't even think he knew where she lived. Following the war, she had moved out of her childhood home, intent on living away from her parents now that she was old enough to have a stable income. With age also came the need for privacy, which she wouldn't have gotten had she stayed.
"It's alright, don't worry. Come in!" she says in response, beckoning Sasuke to come inside. She was his first option; the thought warms her like nothing else. Sakura steps to the side to allow him an easier passage before shutting the door and hurrying back to the living room, cheeks flaming at the disarray around them. She is not messy but she can be disorganized; no amount of nagging from her mother had helped get rid of this habit.
Part rebellion, part tendency to prioritize other things while in the midst of studying and doing medical research, Sakura can't help but feel self conscious as she bends low to pick up books and messily scribbled notes. This is not how she would have preffered to welcome Sasuke into her home. "You can use my bathroom and take a shower if you wish. Naruto left some clothes last time he dropped by." she puts things back where they belong, momentarily pausing as she realizes her state of undress.
Sakura's blush only worsens then.
While her clothes aren't seen through, they emphasize the curves she knows she has but doesn't usually show. Both her arms and long legs are exposed, too. She carries on with the task, turning to face Sasuke once she finishes, not unlike a child that got caught with their hand sticking out of the cookie jar.
❛ can’t sleep? ❜
--Naruto
Sakura whips her head around to face Naruto, surprised. Moonlight falls on him and it hits the pinkette just how different he is when it's just the two of them, them and no one else. After the sun sets, he gets quieter, less obnoxious. There is a maturity to him, a stillness. Naruto still shines in that way only he can but without the sun to mirror his hair, without its light to contrast the cerulean of his eyes, he almost blends in with their surroundings...like a firefly. Still bright but gentler, less blinding.
She shakes her head. "Not really." Even as she turns back to face ahead, look up at the starry sky above them, Sakura pats the spot next to her in silent invitation. "You?" She tucks her knees underneath her chin, a soft breeze moving past them. It's enough to stir some unruly strands of hair, stick them to her mouth.
She can't believe there was a time when she wore it past her shoulders.
Sakura removes the strands with practiced ease and asks. "Have you ever thought about becoming something else?" She knows she doesn't need to clarify, knows he will understand what she is talking about. She wonders just how far back do Naruto's dreams of becoming Hokage go, wonders if he ever thought of retiring without being old, ever thought of...normal.
And then she wonders if he would have even been allowed the pick differently. Would Konoha have let him?
