I kinda need help y’all. My husband had gotten a desperation job at an Amazon warehouse, finding that to be a lot more appealing than the emotional drain of being yelled at by customers as a supervisor at a travel agency. And yknow what? It was gonna be great. He was getting paid almost twice as much as he got in a month as a travel agent, in a week as an Amazon employee.
We were finally gonna be able to pay rent on our own. We were gonna be able to get me a new phone that doesn’t have an explosive, expanding battery. We were gonna get my anxious dog a compression vest— that was only a dream for such a long time.
And then three days in, my husband had a 40lb box dropped on his knee and he was demanded to leave shift early because of liability risks.
His knee’s fine. It wasn’t an issue once that was healed, we honestly forgot it happened it was so not a problem. Everything was great for like, a week after. He was even being promoted! I—disabled, can’t get my own job— was starting to feel hopeful again.
The issue was when he was called into HR and asked “Hey, why did you leave early that day? You didn’t have the personal time off to justify leaving early.”
Of course, he explained the situation. He was told to leave, and the box wasn’t even his fault, it was someone else’s accident. HR said “yeah, okay, that’s fine. You’ll get a word back from the higher-ups in about a week, but don’t worry, that shouldn’t be a problem”
The very next day, HR called him back in and told him “Yeah... They decided on termination.”
Its been a little over a week since then. He’s having no luck finding a new job. Rent’s due yesterday, and we only have enough money to keep the power on.

Tl;dr Jeff Bezos said “I injured you at work and now I’m going to fire you for it.” So now me (disabled) and my husband are out of money
