ok just finished rogue one after watching the finale arc of andor and i am wrecked, fully a mess, like my god. the tonal shift between the show and the movie was like witnessing the elevation of cassian from an ordinary mortal struggling in the prosaic world into the realm of heroism and myth. the force is there again, and it is with him, as was hinted at in andor, and he participates in such a profound communal act of service and sacrifice to the cause of freedom of the galaxy. he's no longer the heart of the story, but he's a vital agent instead, a guide and a protector, someone that gets the essential work done, and his message of hope gets passed on and on, forward through the movie, until it's fully materialized as the death star plans in the hands of leia. it all could not have happened without everything that happened to him, such a remarkable and painful chain of causality, but it did. he was there when the galaxy needed him most, shaped into just the right man for the job, after so many trials. he's a hero of a different sort than luke, a hero from a different genre, but he still has his place in the greater myth of it all, and it was beautiful to see.

i finished the andor finale and literally immediately had to watch rogue one. like it really put the movie into a whole new perspective. andor was so incredibly well crafted (the show and character). i cannot, cannot, understate it’s prevalence to the modern times— an insane thing to say considering the direct references to historical events (will we ever learn :| ). i think he’s a hero different from luke because he feels more real? it feels like you could grow into someone like andor… like if given the right start, time and place, life could really shape you that way. anyone could be pushed to become so hardened for what they believe in. he feels more grounded. but i love that the force is still with him. i love this series so much.

i recently passed the five year anniversary of the first time i wrote fiction, back in april of 2020, during the pandemic and the release of the seventh season of the clone wars. it's remarkable how much and how little my life has changed since i first copy-pasted plato into a word document and turned it into porn, the things i've been through and survived, the things obikin as a community has been through too. when i started writing fic, there were 4k obikin stories in the tag, and i'd read a significant portion of them. there are over 10k now, and the community has grown past and around me in ways that i am genuinely proud to have been part of. back in 2020 the idea of a kenobi show was silly to even imagine, getting new footage of obi-wan and vader interacting on screen seemed an impossible dream, and yet we had the remarkable experience of the impossible coming true. the summer of 2022 was one of the best and worst of my life, the struggle of dealing with recurrent cancer, but making so many new friends through obikin, bonding over the almost religious experience of those episodes dropping and the community frothing with excitement and ideas. i'm still astonished that i've managed to write 765k words and over 50 stories over the years, and i've been very proud that my stories have resonated with people. it means so much that people are still finding them to this day and finding joy reading them. it's given meaning to my life in very dark times, like in a very real way fandom has kept me alive in every way that matters. i appreciate everyone's patience and kindness as i deal with significant problems that have interrupted my creativity offline. thank you all so much, the community has given more to me than i could ever say, and i look forward to many more years to come <3

i wanted a new mini notebook because i'm very quickly filling up this copy i printed awhile ago. so i made, what i think, would look luke aubrey's notebook from Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach by Nmn. crowley is a character i love so much i have a snake tattoo'd on my ear. it was always that serious. but when i tell you aubrey thyme is genuinely the best OC's ever created, UGH i love her so much. thank you @scary-portrait for introducing it so me its fucking incredible. so excited to get this shit in my hands. mockup, apple, aubrey's tree, font. fucking banger of a fanfic so damn good.

ooooo another one!! this is the cover of skyl_tales fic, When the Abyss Stares Back at You!! one of my favorite star wars fics at large, I love the criticisms of the jedi council!!! this font is hand carved by me, but you can find the mockup here. this cover, by large was meant to be a reference to the eyes of god cave - but i wanted to try a more simplistic look! and putting real sith ani's eyes in those holes looked genuinely scary lol. an incredible read, i fell in love with the plot and ani's struggle with the dark side. READ IT!
