Here’s a utilitarian use for your recyclables. In Warnes, 30km from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, former lawyer Ingrid Vaca Díez is helping poor families build affordable housing using the stuff we normally throw away.

Her project, Centro Ecoagroturistico (EcoAgroTouristic Center) was born from the idea of using unwanted material to build eco-friendly houses. With six other like-minded women, she collected four thousand plastic bottles, known as pet, from friends, local schools and bountiful garbage dumps to obtain the materials needed for their work.

The bottles were filled with sand, earth or sawdust to make them hard, then bound to each other using cement, one on top of the other. When that work was completed, another coat of cement, clay or straw was applied to both sides to reinforce the wall.

Eighty-one bottles are needed to create one square meter and at least ten thousand are needed to build one small house with two bedrooms, living/dining area, kitchen, and bathroom.

A Dairy Factory Farm Opened Its Doors to the Public and the Public Was Not Impressed

A recent Huffington Post article discusses a new study that observed consumers before and after a visit to a Canadian dairy farm. During the study by the University of British Columbia, 50 members of the public toured a dairy farm considered “good” by industry standards. Participants took surveys about their perceptions of animal welfare on the farm before and after the tour. The results were frightening. Only 12 of the participants indicated an improved perception of the dairy industry. The majority was either more critical or experienced no change in perception. “[I]t would seem that the farm visit did not result in an overall increase in confidence, as would have been predicted by the knowledge deficit model of public understanding,” concluded the researchers. In short, what people saw scared them and did not make them feel better about factory farming and its cruel practices. Participants were most upset about the lack of access to pasture and the separation of calves from their mothers. The study comes after a recent shakeup of the Canadian dairy industry. An article by the Vancouver Sun revealed that more than one in four British Columbian dairy farms failed to comply with animal welfare codes over an 18-month period. Additionally, the country’s largest dairy pled guilty to animal cruelty charges last week following a Mercy For Animals undercover investigation. Graphic hidden-camera footage shows employees gleefully poking and squeezing festering wounds, ripping clumps of hair out of cows’ sensitive tails, and punching bulls in the testicles.

Dear anti-vegans

Monetarily-okay+ people: stop using poor people, migrant workers (be it crops or animal agriculture), persons from impoverished or “less developed” nations as your “reason you can’t go vegan”.

Able bodied and/or minded people: stop using disabled people (body and/or minded), vegan or not, as your “reason you cannot go vegan”.

People not living in food desserts or who don’t suffer from limited access to food that isn’t just fast food and processed goods: stop using people in these areas (and who most likely have lower incomes) as “reasons you cannot go vegan”.

People from richer countries, especially that benefit most from white and rich privilege: stop using indigenous persons like the Inuit and other hunter-gatherer style persons as your “reason you cannot go vegan”.

White people: stop erasing vegans of color and their history, religions, ideologies and very existence as “reasons you cannot go vegan”.

People who do not have restrictive time schedules (I.E.: work three jobs) or unhelpful/neglectful parents, friends, etc: stop using people who literally have no time or a support system as your “reason you can’t go vegan”.

People who don’t suffer from restriction to access of education, nutritional information, health care benefits and the like: stop using persons who don’t have access to these things as your “reason to not be vegan”.

Stop using actual or legitimate reasons an individual may not be able to vegan, currently or ever, as your excuse if it does not fucking effect you.

At least be honest and say it’s because you don’t care or are selfish. Appropriating another person’s very real reasons they may not be able to abide by veganism is oppressive, erasing and makes you an actual butt wipe.

You said that you don't pay taxes before. Does Freelee not pay them as well? Some handbag basics are going delusional saying that Freelee started her patreon so she could get a tax cut for the charity donations lol. If Freelee wanted more money wouldn't she just make more videos like you told her to? It'd be internet suicide if she tried to make some chump change that way. It would make more sense for her to just put out more HBB content and appease the zombies $$$

Freelee makes a shit tonne more than me (women ALWAYS will be paid more on social media than men. 1000% of the time) so she has an accountant and a business number etc.

I don’t have anything professionally ran as my situation is just a personal hobby and the ATO are fine with that and Im on their records. I don’t trust accountants as Ive been ripped off in the past by them so I do everything myself and have a contact at the ATO who helps me with that so everything is above board.

100% Freelee started up that patreon to help out the animal charity she mentioned in that click bait title video. She saw me doing my monthly patreon give away and thought it was a great idea and followed suit.

It wasnt my original idea either. Someone mentioned I should give away my patreon $ each month by buying vegan dog food to street dogs, buying bike equipment for vegan foot soldiers etc.

Last night I was at the mid state fair and his hand bag basic girl was dancing and drinking beer me and she was sloshing her beer everywhere and jabbing me with the hard corners of her enormous Louis Vuitton bag. Who seriously goes out at night so excited about her bag that weighs 16 pounds full of makeup and hair accessories and then has to be crippled by that bag while trying to dance?! Answer: handbag basic.
