…and countless others for whom this is a difficult day

Okay but it’s Mothers Day.
A day to celebrate mothers.
If you’ve been thru a loss or a difficult situation, that sucks, but this isn’t about you. People can be sensitive without making the whole day a big deal about those who aren’t mothers.
I lost my dad 2.5 years ago. Father’s Day is rough for me. But it’s father’s day. I expect nothing less than for those with fathers to celebrate them!!! I choose not to go on Facebook that day, and I suck it up and live my life. I would feel terrible if anyone avoided openly celebrating or bragging on their dad for fear of offending me. It’s my responsibility and burden to shield myself from hurt, not the other way around.
And or course, if someone were rudely targeting or messaging me about how wonderful their father was without any regards to my situation, yes that would hurt, but people don’t do that.
Live your life today, celebrate your mom, and shoot a text to a friend who lost theirs. Don’t give up your happiness for someone else. Don’t make the day about “those who don’t have kids” or “those who don’t have mothers”.
Anyway... my post is for people for whom Mother's Day is difficult, for any number reasons. It doesn't take away from anyone else's celebration. Let them have it.

C: I hate when others shame me for the things I like. I am a 20 year old black young woman, judging me for my interests and then calling yourself “pro-black” is a conflict. Just because my interests don’t stick to YOUR version of a norm for Black people doesn’t make me less of a Black person. I am tired of being told that I need to “get in the winning team” or told to “come back to my own.” I love being Black, I love my fellow Black people. I also love all types of music and various types of men. I love foreign films and learning languages. That doesn’t make me less of a Black woman!!

Three judges from the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued a ruling this week that will affect everyone from whistleblowers to your ex who is still, somehow, using your Netflix password to watch Jessica Jones. The court ruled that sharing passwords is a criminal act.
