Celebrating Trans Day of Visibility 2026
Campaign: https://tilt.fyi/nR9uGYuA5Z
This year, I am supporting @translifeline. This cause and organization are important to me because they do amazing work with the trans community, providing crisis support, criminal justice support, and resources for mental health and hormone therapies. Over the years, they’ve given over $1.1 million in micro-grants to help with correcting names and gender markers on legal documents.
If you’d like to support Trans Lifeline and also receive these patterns, Phoenix and Phoenix Feather, or previous year's patterns, please see the Tiltify link in my bio (or copy/paste below).
🏳️⚧️ Donate $5+ USD for Phoenix & Phoenix Feather
🏳️⚧️ Donate $20+ USD for all of my previous campaign patterns + this year. (Phoenix Feather, Metamorphosis (2025), Cuttlefish (2024), and Rise Up (2023).
🏳️⚧️ Donate $5 USD for any of the previous year patterns you may have missed. This is the only time you can get these designs.
100% of the proceeds will go to this amazing organization and these patterns will only be available through Wednesday, 4/1/24 midnight EST. Cross Stitch PDFs will be emailed to you within 24 hours to the email you provide Tiltify, and I will be actively ensuring you get your rewards.

To my trans homies, you are seen. You are loved. <3
This year for Pi Day I'm doing a free cross-stitch stitch-a-long with a nonogram twist!
Every day from March 1st to 14th, a new nonogram will be released on mathysphere dot gay (with two nonograms released on the first day). Each nonogram is one part of a larger design; if you stitch them together into a grid, the full piece will be revealed!
Details on fabric etc after the cut----
The finished piece measures 75 by 75 stitches, and should be stitched on 14-count or 28-count fabric (do NOT do 18- or 16- or any other count for this one-- trust me!)
On 14- or 28-count fabric, the stitched design measures around 5½ inches (~13½ cm) on each side. Including a margin around it, I recommend using a piece of fabric no less than 8 or 9 inches (20-23 cm) across.
The design uses only one color, so make it a fun one! You can pick any thread and any fabric, but colorful ones are recommended 😉
There are 15 pieces in the design, each measuring 25 by 15 stitches. If you're someone who likes gridding your projects, it may make sense to mark those dimensions on your fabric.
If you played last year's Pi Day nonogram set, then I'm happy to report that I've spruced up the code quite a bit since then-- the UI is better, and I've added a way to highlight errors if you mess up. Pretty proud of that!
The first two nonograms will go up on Mathysphere dot gay on March 1st, 2026, with a new nonogram every day after that; if you'd like to get an email reminder as each of the nonograms go live, you can sign up for that 📧here. There's also an option to be notified for just the first one.
If you've got any questions, drop me a line, and-- happy stitching!!

hey! i was taking a look through my pattern library and noticed that the Lover's Promenade Nature Walk pattern has a repeated colour name in the backstitching, with two being recorded as DMC 777. is this right?
Yes, that's right! Some of the backstitching uses just one strand of DMC 777 and some uses two, so it's shown as two different colors in the chart.
Just designed a new one for this series so here's a round-up of my previous Nature Walk cross stitch patterns! In order of appearance: Teatime, Petrichor, Twilight, Low Tide, Thunderstorm, Midnight, Golden Hour, Witching Hour, Midafternoon, Sunset, First Snow, and Winter Moon :)
Scientists in weather and climate are live streaming for 100 hours to make their case to the American public.
They are live streaming, but engagement is necessary for it to work. SHARE THIS WITH PEOPLE, RECORD THE STREAM, POST CLIPS OF IT THAT ARE FUNNY, if you can tune in, PLEASE DO!
This is something that has to be heard by as many people as possible. Put it on in the background! See if you can get other people to watch it! Do whatever you can do support those who are trying to be supported! Anything and everything helps!
I started this series kinda on a whim and somehow managed to stay on schedule so far this year! 6 months and 6 Nature Walk cross stitch patterns, in order of pictured: Midafternoon, Golden Hour, Teatime, Petrichor, Twilight, and Midnight.
I never shared the rest of my Nature Walk series on here, so here they are! In order of pictured: Low Tide, Thunderstorm, Witching Hour, Sunset, First Snow, and Winter Moon :)
Cross-stitch artists of Tumblr-- let's make a difference!
Cross Stitch for Gaza is assembling a pattern bundle fundraiser: cross-stitch designers of any skill level are invited to submit a pattern of theirs (old or new) to be included in the pattern bundle. Once the bundle is complete, it will be offered as a reward to stitchers who make a donation of €15 or more to the GoFundMe of Hadeel Mikki and her family.
More info below the cut, and read the the full details at CrossStitchForGaza.com--
'To the Cross Stitch Community on Tumblr and Bluesky'
Our Goal
This pattern bundle is being assembled (by @mathysphere and friends) to help raise money for Hadeel Mikki and her family-- her mother, husband, two brothers, her two little girls, and her baby-- to escape and find safety out of Gaza. Their goal is to raise a total of €35,000 to pay for passage; as of this writing, they have already raised €20,000, so the aim of this campaign is to help raise the final €15,000. Plus, hopefully, a little extra, so that they will have something to live on once they cross over into Egypt.
If this fundraiser is successful at raising the money that Hadeel's family needs, then later donors may be directed to help with a campaign from another family. In that case, a family or individual will be chosen from the GazaVetter's list of verified campaigns.
The Bundle
For this fundraiser, we are collecting cross-stitch patterns to send as a bundle (one or more .ZIP files) to anyone who donates €15 or more to Hadeel Mikki's GoFundMe campaign during the duration of the campaign (March 7th to April 25th, 2025). Anyone who can make a cross-stitch pattern may 'donate' it to the cause-- you do not have to be an established or a professional pattern designer to contribute!
Once the fundraising event goes live, donors will be directed to give €15 or more to the GoFundMe campaign, and then submit a receipt or screenshot of their donation to the Cross Stitch for Gaza team. Within 24 hours, they will be sent back a .ZIP file or files containing the full set of patterns from the bundle. No money will be exchanged with the Cross Stitch for Gaza team at any point.
Each of the pattern-makers will also receive a copy of the full pattern bundle, as a thank-you. 🙏
The Tumblr cross-stitch community is not a large one, and not a rich one, but it doesn't have to be-- if we work together, we have the power to make a real difference for a family that desperately needs it.
In Hadeel's own words:
Maybe this fundraising effort is like a beacon in the darkness, our sole source of hope that we hold onto tightly. I urge the world to listen to my plea and the sorrowful cries of my Gaza kin. We desperately require the helping hand that can dry our tears and lead us to safety.
Your contribution is more than just money; it's a chance to reconstruct life and illuminate a brighter future. Join us in shaping a tale of hope, as we rely on your support to begin afresh.

Hiya :] I'm not sure if you've ever spoken about this, but what's your process like when designing your patterns? I've been wanting to start designing my own patterns, and your compositions are really inspiring!! Are there any tips or resources you can share?
So normally, I sketch ideas I have so I don't forget them and use that as a jumping off point. Then I usually start in a pixel art program on my tablet and transfer that into WinStitch (a cross stitch design program) to finalize everything. The design usually stays the same while test stitching, but I might swap out colors or fine-tune a bit.
I don't have any specific resources for composition, it's mostly based on vibes tbh! It's a lot of arranging and rearranging until it looks "right". I usually start with my biggest elements and then fill in from there.
For tips, I'd say look at tons of art/inspiration in all places/media, design the stuff that *you* would want to make, practice practice practice, and don't be afraid to try new things!! My style and patterns are pretty different from when I first started designing and I'm sure they'll further evolve as I continue.
The Unicorn's Garden by SproutingLupine is the ✨OFFICIAL 2024 Pattern of the Year!✨
Congratulations to the Unicorn-- truly a beautiful, intricate, and all-around stunning design!
Congratulations as well to our runner-up, the Tiger, and to every other pattern submitted-- it has been a delight to get to see all the creativity on display. Thanks to everyone who submitted, and voted, and hung around having a good time. :)
