he gave his wet hair one more run through the towel before giving up–there was only so much freshening up mik had the motivation for when he knew that his night would consist of nothing but laying around with cosette. and considering she had been working on homework before his shower, and still looked intensely focused on it, she wasn’t going to be very entertaining, either. he sunk down onto their bed next to her, a book slipping towards him. “what class is this all for?” he was holding the book, and looking at it, but nothing about its title meant anything to him.
it wasn’t a well kept secret that cosette struggled with focusing on her schoolwork when she tried to do it in the house—and especially her room—but she was thankful for the volume of it she was able to get done without getting distracted by mik. she was just a word away from finishing the last of the essay question she had been working away at when mik spoke. she glanced up from her laptop at the book in his hand. “my urban policy class,” she responded, sighing. “politics in cities and stuff. i’m writing an essay right now, though.” she glanced back at her screen, at the cursor blinking and noticed how heavy her head felt just at the presence of her boyfriend (she didn’t want to delve into what that was about).
misvrablcs:
no matter how enticing the storyline was, minsu couldn’t deny that he was spending more time stealing glances from his peripheral at seungyoon than he was paying attention to the screen. each time a flash of color illuminated the theatre he took his chance, admiring the way that the bright reds and pinks highlighted his cheekbones. there was no denying that he had it bad for seungyoon; not even the playful glare that he sported before diverting his attention back to the screen could fool anyone. they stood like that for a while, minsu stealing sideways glances at his boyfriend as he did his best to remain composed. at some point he started actually paying attention to the plot again, straightening his posture so that he could sling an arm around seungyoon’s shoulder to play with his hair. his leg slung further up seungyoon’s own as his fingers ran through his hair slowly, weaving in and out of the strands. he had remained otherwise occupied with the rhythmic movement and unfolding story until the familiar warmth of his boyfriends soft lips snuck up on him, a quiet hum rumbling in his throat as they traveled. he hadn’t realized it, but his hand had seized its movement, slinging limply over his shoulders as he sunk into yoonie. “hey,” he whispered, though a laugh accompanied it, “what are you doing?” he had no complaints, but he was curious. his hand pressed to the side of seungyoon’s face, fingers lacing through his hair as he began playing with his ear. “like me more than the movie?”
the reason why the prospect of saying i love you to minsu began and ended with the fact that this was the first time seungyoon had ever loved someone in the way he did. people had always told him and adelaide that they were perfect together, that they were meant to do, but that was all based in heteronormativity and two long-played games of make-believe. but this was so authentic that it stretched from his skull to his toes and radiated. it wasn’t like it wasn’t reciprocated, he knew that much, but the words were still terrifying for whatever silly, emotionally constipated reason his brain gave him. he kept himself busy, avoiding what was coming with fervor, slipping his hand between min’s thighs and gripping the one closest to him with a determined hand. “watch the movie,” he said, then proceeded to busy his mouth with nipping at the soft expanse of skin below his boyfriend’s ear. so much of the movie went by, that by the time he pulled away, there were two blossoming hickeys left in his wake. and as he glanced up, the proud smirk he had planned slipped right from his face. the words came out like a faucet turned on, as if they were a matter of fact. “i love you,” he said, to the side of min’s face, hand kneading into the muscle of min’s thigh. “i really love you.”
misvrablcs:
minsu’s ability to seem inconspicuous when it came to the houses sexual theories between the two was near encouraging; something to take pride in. watching seungyoon plead for mercy this once made his heart swell, jutting out his bottom lip as he doted on his boyfriend. though the temptation was there, his inability to keep his hands off his boyfriend a pressing issue in an unpacked theatre, min was more intrigued by how the movie would unravel. “it seems like it is, so since you asked me so nicely i’ll consider.” it was all in good fun. he couldn’t tell him that he’d follow his request, offering mercy simply because he was putty under his pleading eyes. that much was evident as he melted closer into his side, bringing seungyoon’s hands up to his lips to press a soft kiss to his knuckles as the introduction began. “don’t be sorry,” he whispered, “i love it.” his voice was tender despite the fact he knew seungyoon didn’t actually mean it, letting his eyes linger for a little longer before he let the music draw him in. theatric as expected yet beginning to exceed expectations, the love story that unfolded brought minsu subconsciously closer to yoonie, lips rolling together as his eyes keenly watched romance blooming on the screen. drawn into the story, he was caught off guard by the kiss pressed to his neck, one that sent a wave of heat to the pit of his stomach, the butterflies he’d never grow accustomed to making their appearance. a smile tugged at his lips as he turned to look at seungyoon, momentarily distracted from the screen. “what are you doing? i thought if anyone would have trouble paying attention it would be me,” he chuckled, eyes fluttering from his lips to his eyes, searching (rather admiring) his boyfriend’s eyes. his breath fanned over the space between them, and he knew he’d never get used to the way that his heart beat erratically in his presence.
it was easy to pretend they were the only two people in the theatre, in the building, in the world. even if the lights hadn’t been off and the seats around them vacant, seungyoon could certainly block everything else out with just one glance over at min’s face. and it was much more pleasant with background music, dragging his eyes around the surface of his boyfriend’s face freely. he had photographed it so many times, he shouldn’t need to look this closely and yet, he felt the need to where the opportunity was given. the word love felt so heavy in the air between them, but only for seungyoon. in fact, that word had been on his mind nonstop lately, or, in reality, a long time. when min glanced over, complaining, and yoonie drew his lips away from the soft skin of his neck, yoonie just gestured back to the screen, prompting them both to watch the movie. he made it another 20 minutes, deeper into the story and the music, before he was drawn to look back at min by the little seedling of yearning that was forming in his chest. it would spill out eventually, overflow past his lips like bubbly champagne. to assuage the pull, he leaned forward to press his lips against min’s jaw, and then caught min’s ear in his lips, releasing it only to press more open mouthed kisses down his neck. it was obnoxious, sure, but it was keeping his mouth occupied when the thing threatened to give things away too fast, and that was what he needed for the duration of the movie.
misvrablcs:
it was no secret that minsu had a horrible habit with wandering hands, his better judgement malfunctioning with every glance his boyfriend had to offer. even as they picked through the snacks (or, rather, had them handed to them. the theatre was more than familiar with them) he couldn’t hide his amusement at seungyoon’s skepticism. yet, blaming him for it was unrealistic. min had, after all, led his boyfriend to the back of the theatre, partly out of habit and partly for reassurance. min shuffled in easily, plopping into a seat of his choosing as he placed the small variety of sweets at their feet, gazing over his shoulder as seungyoon pulled his attention with a valid quip. “is that a question or a request?” min humored quietly, a brow raised in challenge as he remained undecided. he wasn’t sure what was more fun – watching seungyoon squirm without reassurance or pretending that he was giving him ideas he didn’t already have as he sat back, resting easily into the seat as he one two scooted closer to yoonie, slinging his leg over his boyfriend’s. “i’ve heard really good things about the movie, so maybe you’ll get lucky. i’ve been told i’m pretty good at multitasking, though.” he teased lightheartedly, patting seungyoon on the pit of stomach as he dared to retract his hand in a drag, much too low and slow. clearly amused with himself, he offered an adoring laugh, dragging his hand further to slip it into seungyoon’s. he could only go a few minutes of pretending that he didn’t see seungyoon watching him until he turned to look back at him. his cheek rested on his own shoulder, shielding a smile. “i think the question should be are you actually gonna watch the movie?”
people always doubted that min was the one, in the relationship, with the exhibitionist streak that got yoonie in trouble. but then again, those people also couldn’t recognize the almost natural mischievous glint that was currently appearing on his boyfriend’s face. their claims were based on the fact that, in general, seungyoon was the more hyper of the pair, but their claims would be easily found baseless if they actually knew anything about what went down between them. “a request,” he said, voice soft and pleading, as he tried to analyze the expressions on min’s face. he was riding on the fact that this was a movie min had wanted to see and not him, therefore he was more likely to be transfixed on what was going on onscreen rather than what was in yoonie’s pants. “just... please, everything i’ve heard about this movie puts it right up your alley,” he said, trying to ignore what min’s hand was doing until it was safely in his. he would probably never get over it, not completely anyway, the feeling of such a simple thing as having min’s hand in his. having him so close that it was easy to make out all of his best features, even with the lights dark. he didn’t realize he was staring so obviously, though, but he didn’t really care, even when min called him out. “sorry,” he singsonged, not sounding sorry at all, and jiggled the leg that was fit under min’s just a bit. the movie began quickly and of course, in proper musical form, the whole thing started out with a love story. he knew plenty about old fashioned musicals, one of his required courses was an art and culture history course, so he could pretty much deduce the rest of the story based purely on that. it was his justification for leaning in closer to min and pressing a feather light kiss to the spot on min’s neck just below his ear. the romantic music swelled and something pressed in seungyoon’s heart, unidentified but ever present, at the feeling.
seungyoon had extremely valid reasons to avoid the movie theatre as a spot for dates with minsu, those being that his boyfriend had the (not so unusual) problem of not being able to keep his hands to himself, and yet there he was, buying two tickets to the greatest showman. they shuffled through the motions of getting their tickets and snacks with ease, yoonie with his hand glued to the small of min’s back, leaning his chin on the shorter boy’s shoulder whenever there was a lull in movement, and eventually they made their way into theatre 10 and sat in the seats they (read: min) had chosen towards the back. “are you actually gonna watch the movie?” yoonie said once he had leaned the chair back, pushing the armrest between their seats up despite his better judgment, so he could sprawl out and tuck one leg under min’s. it was only them and another couple towards the front of the theatre and the previews had already started playing, so even if min did get any ideas, it wouldn’t be nearly as embarrassing as it was when they went to see the last jedi in a packed theatre and they had to slip out before the climax of the movie. before he completely settled in comfortably, seungyoon leaned over to press a soft kiss to the apple of min’s cheek, and then pulled away to try to focus. it was difficult, admittedly, to not glance over at his boyfriend’s face, illuminated by the silver screen. with his fingers twitching, he gazed on, peacefully, as the other boy watched the previews.
misvrablcs:
min’s cheeks had puffed out embarrassingly, turning to offer seungyoon an apologetic look as his face masked his horror. with both of his hands, he gripped the boys bicep, his face twisting in his own horror and amusement as he shook his head at his boyfriend. “i am so sorry. please ignore her.” he mused quietly, eyes pleading for him to not feel uncomfortable despite their sex life being the butt of a temporary joke. his hands fell back down to his lap, fingers fiddling with one another as he shyly turned to his mother, his eyes gleaming down toward the ground to avoid meeting eye contact with anyone in the room as they examined the pictures. he was well aware of how many times seungyoon snuck photographs of him, yet seeing the praise that he deserved given over pictures he was merely in made his cheeks flush. “he’s not giving himself enough credit. i don’t make the photos, his eye for the moment does. he’s the best photographer you’ll see, i swear by it.” min bubbled into praise, not wanting to overdo it, yet feeling it necessary to brag about his boyfriend. his words almost were a testimony to how much seungyoon meant to him, love radiating from the familiar halls as seungyoon opened his own gift. “you’re welcome.” his mother chimed, nodding her head at the tearful boy. min took a moment to reach up, patting at the corner of his boyfriends tearful eye while simultaneously nuzzling into his side, lip pouted with adoration for the boy who was all his. “thank you for coming with min. that was a prize all on its own.” she insisted, getting up from her own place to tuck the photographs away securely while dabbing at her own eyes. “dinner should be about done. why don’t you two set the table for me?”
though he knew his boyfriend was unique and wonderful just on his own, being around minsu’s family made it imminently clear where he had gotten all of his good parts from. there was warmth radiating from everyone around, even from haneul who had barely spoken. in his home, him and jiyeon were too bright, too warm that they blew the windows out. he didn’t even shine a light to min and his family, though — he was sure. min’s praise usually would make him flustered, but he just shook his head, fond and embarrassed at the boy’s words. the best photographer you’ll see felt inappropriate, though he had heard plenty of praise to suggest he was on the way to it, but he guessed that was the thing about partners, boyfriends, or maybe just min, they think you’re best at everything you do. that was probably why he was near-crying, totally out of his element among kindness and acceptance. he returned a nod to min’s mother, smiling and silently telling min he was just fine as the boy doted. the instruction for him to do something, to get up and move his hands felt like a blessing, and he didn’t hesitate at all to stand up, pulling the smaller boy at his side with him. “of course,” he responded, nudging into his boyfriend to show him the way and following when he did. “nari’s funny,” he said once they were severed from the rest of them for a bit, grabbing ahold of the silverware and placing the pieces in their designated spots. “i want to fill this entire house with my pictures, just so you know. all the walls are just gonna be you,” he remarked, fiddling with a spoon, a secretive smile on his face as he set it down.
misvrablcs:
nari was the most important person in minsu’s life. she batted between being his sister and being his best friend; she’d been there for him when he had no one besides an emotionally abuse ex, and she was sure to be there for him when he was the happiest he had ever been in his life. his bitterness came from a place of love, his words a mere reminder for her to chill out a bit out of fear that she would scare seungyoon away, and surely it was understandable at her following words. “i’ll stick with yoonie. unless that’s what min calls you when … you know.” she began in mockery, the whole family chiming into an uncomfortable, “nari!” as she merely laughed. minsu couldn’t hide the evident smile that pulled at the corners of his lips as hanuel patted seungyoon on the back, the entire family only amused by the advancement as hanuel even found himself fighting off a smile as nari called him out. it was his trademark, the entire family smiling at the interaction before yoonie took his chance to introduce his gift. “oh sweetie, you didn’t have to bring us anything.” his mother insisted, a warm smile still prevalent in gratitude. min’s cheeks lit up a bright red at the affection, his lips rolling together to bat off the bashful yet curious way his eyebrows knitted together in reference to the camera bag he had tugged along with them. however, everyone couldn’t resist the overwhelmed smiles they had as yoonie revealed the gift, min turning an embarrassed grin into yoonie’s arm. his mother wasted no time in patting her chest, eyes light as she looked between the photographs and her son. “oh my,” she began, “these are beautiful, seungyoon. did you take these yourself?” she inquired, eyes brimming with tears. “no amount of min’s praise could explain how beautiful these are. thank you. we have something for you, but you might have outdone us by a landslide.”
to say seungyoon was surprised at nari’s words was an understatement. he sputtered out a cough and a face that clearly was him masquerading amusement over fear. never had he been in a household where talking about anything beyond holding hands, let alone literal gay sex, so it took him a moment to put himself back in the moment of christmas cheer and gift-giving and love. watching someone closely examine his pictures normally would’ve made him anxious, but the look on min’s mom face gave him the answer to any question he could ask — she loved them, she appreciated them, they meant a lot. his mentor always talked about how love was pouring out of pictures he took of min, but to have someone who actually knew and loved min too, there to observe his photos, made it different, made it special. “i did,” he answered, nodding, a little struck by her watery eyes. “he’s really easy to take pictures of, but you made him so, you know that,” he joked, shaking his head at his own words. the mention of a gift for him making his heart ache. it was bittersweet, being around a family so kind and accepting but knowing that his parents wouldn’t be buying him gifts. he snapped himself out of his thoughts as a gift was put into his hands, and he unwrapped it slowly, with purpose, to reveal what was inside. “oh my god,” he let out once he saw what the gift was, untidily letting the red and white wrapping paper fall onto the ground as he examined the gift, eyes alight. “thank you so much, this is —” he inhaled, glancing up at min’s mom with a few tears in his eyes of his own. “this is awesome. thank you so much.”
misvrablcs:
minsu could see the gleam of deviltry in yoonie’s eyes, his own gaze fleeting in a moments time with the roll of his eyes as shared moments came in a flash. after a second he shot him a look, one that read of his own amusement despite how desperately he swallowed the thought as his sister stood across from them. her voice was enough to kill the mood, his voice echoing so loudly that her presence lingered in every hall – she was unavoidable. “what if i wanted to call you something special? i don’t want to be grouped in with these -” she whined, an attempt to make him nervous before she was suddenly cut off by min, “that’s too bad. call him yoonie.” minsu exhaled a deep laugh, taking off his scarf to place it on a nearby chair as he encouraged yoonie to do the same. “don’t let him scare you. he’s hard on the outside, as soft as he can manage on the inside. emphasis on the can manage part.” nari blubbered on as seungyoon pulled min in the direction of his father and brother. min almost pouted as he bowed, yet he understood why – his nerves showed in every motion he made. “no, thank you for coming. you’re always welcomed here.” his father stood, extending his hand in introduction. despite his broad exterior, the presence in his voice was nothing short of welcoming. at the same time, haneul stood from his own place on the couch to offer him a smile, walking forward to pat him on the shoulder. however, his attempt at avoiding two handshakes was quickly ridiculed by nari, the girl popping back up with wide eyes as she cackled. “that’s it. he gave him the gay welcoming. now yoonie is really part of the family.”
nari was about what seungyoon expected from how his boyfriend described her and he really didn’t mind it one bit. she reminded him of jiyeon but with the volume cranked above the highest level and the bass pumped — he wanted to laugh, wanted to introduce his sister to min’s. “my name doesn’t really lend to more unique nicknames, but if you can think of one, you can call me whatever you want,” yoonie said, trying his best to make sure the girl liked him, nudging min slightly at the boy’s quick reactions and obvious grumpiness; yet he knew how fond min was of his sister so he didn’t exactly take everything seriously. yoonie shook min’s father’s hand with a wide smile, finally relaxing slightly at the man’s kind eyes (and also decidedly glad he wasn’t the tallest in the room). haneul was a different story, though, and yoonie couldn’t help himself, he let out a gleeful, nearly childish, giggle when he felt the pat on his back. the story about min coming out was one of his favorites, and it only reinforced it to have the pat done to him. “thanks,” he said, to min’s brother, shaking his head slightly at nari’s words. turning to his boyfriend again, yoonie let go of his hand only to press a quick kiss on the always-plump apples of his cheeks. “oh, i brought a gift for you guys,” this was a surprise to min, though the boy had furrowed his eyebrows slightly at the appearance of yoonie’s camera bag upon leaving the house. he pointed to min’s mom, “i think you’ll be the only one who really cares, though.” he pulled three photo sleeves from the bag, 9x12 prints of min in shades of beige and light blue, and handed them to her. “i would’ve bought frames, but i really don’t have taste for anything other than pictures.”
misvrablcs:
a warmth made its presence on his face, cheeks and nose doted with a familiar affection as he entered in suit behind seungyoon. “you look beautiful mom,” he snuck in, walking toward the petite woman to bring her in for a swift embrace. “you’d hope? you know me better than that. i don’t have a bad thing to say about him.” minsu’s head bobbed back and forth, referencing both his mother and boyfriend. his hand still stuck to seungyoon’s, giving him a light squeeze as he took the lead into their home. his mother bashfully pressed a hand to her chest, thankful for the compliment as she said exactly so, the pursuit of the rest of his family short lived as his siblings and father came into view. his father sat on the couch talking to min’s brother, his sister popping up in front of the two like a horror cameo. “well well well,” she began, tapping his chin with her index finger before flinging it in seungyoon’s direction, “if it isn’t the famous seungyoon. what can i call you? yoon? i hear min calls you yoonie.” she blabbered, as loud as ever as she turned to the two males on the couch. “haneul min’s boyfriend is here, you want to come and pat him on the back? give him the ol’ gay welcoming?” nari mocked, turning back to seungyoon before she could acknowledge the ever present frown that took over his face. “how about you give him some space to breathe? you keep talking you’ll take up all the oxygen in here.” min said, a plea to get her to back off.
minsu seemed suddenly possessed by the spirit of family and yoonie could see why — his mother was lovely, looked like everything min was with the added motherly charm the women in his family lacked. he wanted to say i could think of a handful of bad things you’d have to say about me but he wasn’t about to tease his boyfriend in that way, in front of his mother, of all people. luckily, the swift appearance of the famed nari distracted him from his unfit-for-christmas thoughts, her finger in his face making him blink slightly. when she gave him an opening, she replied, “you can call me yoonie. all of you can.” he peered in after nari, looking at the brother who min spoke less of, but who he’d still heard of. yoonie couldn’t help himself, he bowed his head at min’s dad when their eyes met, cringing internally all the way down. “the gay welcoming — i heard that story,” he mused, voice winding down into a mumble at the sight of haneul’s reaction and smile disappearing. he was so much taller than nari, so much taller than min’s mom. he felt too big for his body, like a kid again. “it’s fine, min,” seungyoon said, squeezing his boyfriend’s hand gently and tugging him closer to the two men. “i’m yoonie,” he said to haneul and min’s father, “thanks for letting me come today.” he felt uncomfortable, ready to stop being so uptight but not being able to help himself.
misvrablcs:
bundled into his coat, a scarf adorned his collarbones, shielding his smile from view as the two of them ambled toward the snow-lined path. a dinner with his family in their entirety - the people whom seungyoon had learned so much about almost left minsu feeling more nervous than he was sure his boyfriend did. the last thing he wanted was for 20 questions to splutter into seungyoon’s direction, more so from his brother than his father, and for his sister to eat up every second of finally meeting him given how desperately minsu had clung to keeping her at arms length. “they’re going to love you.” min finally spoke up, the statement more so serving as a reassurance to the both of them. he knew his family would adore him, but somehow he was still nervous. “just try your best to ignore everything my brother and sister say.” he chuckled, leaning up to press a kiss to yoonie’s jawline to sooth his nerves, fingers still entangled in his as he brought his other fist to knock on the door. within only a few passing seconds, the door flung open to reveal the both welcoming and eager smile of his mother, the warmth from inside flooding over the both of them within a second. “we we’re beginning to think you two would never show.” she grinned from ear to ear, beaconing them in with the wave of her hand. “you must be seungyoon! we’ve heard so much about you. all good things, of course.”
seungyoon was nervous — for stupid reasons he knew he didn’t have to worry about, like, are they gonna compare me min’s other boyfriends (no, because: ew) and what if they expect me to dress or act a certain way (they won’t because again: ew), etc, etc. but being by min’s side offered some comfort to the boy, as it almost always did. the words from his boyfriend brought him out of his thoughts, and he looked forward at the house, taking a deep breath and exhaling in a big puff of vapor. laughing slightly and letting his eyes flutter slightly at the kiss, yoonie tried to set himself at ease. but then min’s mother, bright and shining and beautiful, came into view and he felt his entire body twitch, wanting to bow but rejecting the instinct instilled on him by his mother. he smiled back, not as brilliantly but making an attempt at it. “that’s me,” he said, exhaling yet another large breath he had no idea he’d been holding. “and i’d hope!” pulling min into the house slightly, begging him to take the lead with just a tug of the hand, yoonie followed after the woman. “your house is lovely,” he said, voice gentle and genuine compared to how it was usually, smug and deadpanned. trying to do all the things people saw as polite when entering a “stranger’s” home.
the house + shitposts
misvrablcs:
minsu caught the kiss with a grin, placing it on his chest in order to continue with the gag at adelaide’s expense. once they disappeared from his line of sight, he had begun mentally preparing himself to join in on a conversation, groups of people swarming around him as hollers distanced in the corner. min was almost thankful that someone had approached him so quickly, saving him the chore of finding a conversation to butt in on – the keyword being almost. if he would have known how the true and initial motive of the conversation, he would have run for the hills. but there he stood, oblivious as ever, his own lips curling into a tender smile in response. “it seems like there’s a lot of people here that know seungyoon. makes me feel a little out of place,” he attempted to humor. at her introduction, min proceeded to counter with his own name in response, reaching out to take her hand into his own. what he wasn’t expecting was the quick shift in her features, his lips parting in surprise as a single brow arched. there was a new underlining tone as she spoke now, min’s eyes searching the expands of her face it began to twist menacingly. at her clarification at what she meant, min felt a swift kick to his gut, throat growing dry. any smile that his features previously offered were falling in the space between them as he remained frozen for a moment. her last comment was enough to make him recoil from her grip with a flinch. “why are you telling me this?” he challenged despite his voice cracking as it curled in defeat. suddenly it felt like all the girls were mocking him, her last words on repeat in his head. “what’s wrong with you? it’s not like you two were dating.”
tatiana was probably the person yoonie wanted min to meet least. she was always a bit too attached to him, felt a bit too much ownership over him -- while he didn’t mind back when it started, now that it was over, he would probably get a restraining order against her if he could. she had accosted him at his room and after classes a few times but she generally hung around the people seungyoon found himself creating distance between him and them, so it was usually pretty rare that he saw her. that was probably what fueled her anger. she was so obviously stoned or drunk but unbelievably lucid, venom pouring from her mouth. “i’m telling you this so you know that this thing you two have is probably some fluke,” she said, chuckling humorlessly in his face. “i’m not homophobic or anything, but yoonie’s straight. if you weren’t here, it would probably take him twenty minutes to find me or one of his other girls on rotation,” she explained. it was then that yoonie and adelaide spotted the interaction, the girl’s face twisting in confusion first at the sight but yoonie’s jaw setting immediately in anger. “there’s nothing wrong with me, there’s clearly something wrong with yoonie for leading you on like this,” she said, which adelaide heard as she walked forward to hand min the cup she had poured him (some mixture of vodka and soda). “tatiana,” adelaide started, brown eyes searching min’s face before she turned full on towards the other girl. “i thought i smelled something.” tatiana’s face twisted, not at the comment, but at how yoonie walked forward slowly to place a hand on the small of min’s back, a comforting gesture the only thing he could think to offer. “you’re messed up,” tatiana said, shaking her head in his direction, probably not anticipating adelaide dropping her drink forward and spilling the contents of her cup all over her expensive looking outfit, which was evident by the indignant squeal she let out. “what the fuck?!”

admittedly, minsu was nervous to be at a college party given his impeccable and overwhelmingly horrific history with them. he knew that news of their relationship must have spread like wildfire, all the vultures which gazes loomed over them as they walked into the party picking them apart analytically – as if they were lab rats, an unknown spectacle. his chest felt tight with anxiety, but with seungyoon’s hand intertwined with his, he thought that he could get through this. minsu thought that he hadn’t been so happy in his life, so willing to own up to that testimony that he wasn’t shy with leaning into his side, wasn’t shy to reach up and fix a strand of hair that was out of place, and certainly wasn’t shy to press an unprecedented kiss to his bicep. there was a comfort that loomed in the tension as gazes shifted and acknowledgment was thrown in seungyoon and adelaide’s direction. min’s smile as nothing short of forced, feeling a bit out of place surrounded by so many unfamiliar faces. when he could feel seungyoon being pulled away, he was reluctant to let go, but still offered a reassuring smile as he did so; fighting a battle with adelaide was one he would surely lose. “i’ll have whatever you’re having,” he opted simply, laughing as the two of them scurried away. his hands rubbed together mindlessly, fiddling with one another in an attempt to occupy his mind. he wasn’t given much time to sort out his thoughts until a freckled girl was in front of him. “oh,” he replied in surprise at her inquiry, “yeah, i am.” his tone was sweet; he thought she was pretty. “do you know yoonie?”
the words from his boyfriend made seungyoon smile, though he knew it was probably uncomfortable to show up at a party where you knew only the people you came with, he had hoped min would enjoy himself. that was why he felt comfortable leaving, offering a dramatic blown kiss in the pink haired boy’s direction while adelaide audibly fake-vomited from her vantage point. the two set out on a mission then, to find something to drink that wasn’t beer or mike’s hard lemonade, leaving min presumably alone and hopefully to approach and join one of the many welcoming circles. what they didn’t know, was that tatiana had different plans. she analyzed him with bird-like eyes, fake smile becoming more virulent the longer she looked at min. she squinted at his question, somehow feeling incredulous that the boy didn’t know who she was despite the fact that he was dating her ex fuckbuddy. “i do, yeah,” she said, pursing her lips slightly as she spoke. “i’m tatiana,” she said, holding out a hand to shake, but once his hand was in hers, her face dropped. “you know seungyoon has built himself a reputation around here, right?” she asked, voice deadpan. “before you came along, he was perfectly content with me and the other girls here he fucks around with. you must be something magical to switch him like that,” she continued, scoffing. “i don’t see it.”
seungyoon had only agreed to an risd party for the only two conditions that could convince him to do so: adelaide and the ability to bring min. ever since they had gotten together, the information about yoonie’s love life had spread through the small student body. though his friends had been freaked out initially, they had left him be without unkind words. it felt good, free -- like had been living in a bubble his whole life and he was finally free of those confines. so he didn’t feel at all embarrassed walking into the party with his hand intertwined with min’s, face lit up in a bright smile. some people stared, others waved, (when they passed her, julia bennett raised her solo cup as a silent cheers). adelaide was ushering them in from behind but she quickly grabbed at seungyoon to pull him towards the drinks and successfully away from his boyfriend. “what do you want to drink?” he inquired, putting up enough resistance to his fiery haired friend’s pulling to receive minsu’s answer before tripping over himself over to the drinks. what he didn’t see as they barreled through the growing crowd, though, was one of his former fuckbuddies, tatiana, stalking slowly over to min. “hi,” she started, gaining min’s attention and smiling wide and fake at him once she had it. “you’re seungyoon’s boyfriend, right?” she asked, squinting up at him analytically.

“i’d put my money on it too, i just wanted to hear you say it.” min was smug, eyes crinkling bashfully at his admittance. he knew it had only been a few days since the two of them had leaped forward into their relationship, but he thought that he’d never get over the butterflies he felt around seungyoon – he’d never quit be able to shake the nerves that pricked his skin delicately. his words alone triggered a cheek splitting grin as he batted his lashes slowly in response. min took a minute to soak in the moment, like he often did, eyes wandering with adoration as he realized for the millionth time that seungyoon was really his. “i missed you too, if it’s any consolation,” his words were low, melting like honey in between the space between them as he tucked himself swiftly into the boys side. reaching up with one hand, minsu played with seungyoon’s fingers that hung mindlessly from his shoulder, gently toying with them before intertwining them. as he watched the other lean closer, he removed his hand from yoonie’s in order to rest it on his chest before letting their lips collide and move in tandem. the kiss was short, but tender and min wondered if he’d always feel the fireworks that sparked violently in his tummy. he didn’t have to wonder for long because he was convinced. "much better,” he hummed, plump lips curling into a content smile as he rested his head onto seungyoon’s arm. “what were you doing on the computer? i didn’t interrupt or anything, did i?”
humming in response, seungyoon pulled a face in min’s direction. it felt silly, considering he was so happy, to be insecure, but he did. it wasn’t an uneasy insecurity, but rather an excited one, but insecurity nonetheless. seeing min smile, though -- that could heal all of his problems, or it felt like that. “that’s so cheesy,” yoonie murmured back, a small giggle escaping his lips, taking a deep breath at the feeling of having the other boy tucked into his side. they fit together like puzzle pieces. removing his hand from min’s thigh to place it over his smaller hand, intertwining their fingers once they pulled away. “i’d hope so,” he said, sneaking another quick kiss like a thief, smirking contently as he leaned further into the couch. with min’s question, though, yoonie let go of his hand and grabbed his laptop. he opened it to the photo of adelaide he had been experimenting different overlays on. “i’m trying to cover up all that ugly,” he joked, gesturing to the screen broadly. “but you could interrupt me anytime,” he paused before he laughed at his own words. “hey, wait,” he paused, turning away from the screen as he remembered something he had meant to tell the boy. “i told my sister about you and she’s, for all intents and purposes, making me bring you to lunch at her place. she’s been wanting to come and meet all the people at the house but i’ve had enough sense not to let that happen.”

min had been thrown into a whirlwind of emotions, all flipping and stirring his stomach in the best of ways. just when he had accepted the circumstances of their situation, seungyoon managed to twist them back into a place where they belonged. his company had always been something minsu cherished, but now he was running on a high, the smoke blocking any of the better judgement which often aided maintaining his caring reputation around the house. he didn’t have time or the mind to check on everyone because of how tongue-tied he’d become with seungyoon, how wrapped up in his presence and every motion he was. his conscious was consumed with all things yoonie and somehow, he was entirely okay with that. “hiding from me?” minsu greeted, his lips pursed into an unbearable smile as he found seungyoon on the couch. moving forward, he plopped down on the couch with no mind for personal space. “you can’t be sick of me already,” he rolled his eyes playfully, head bobbing to the side. “either that or i think everyone was messing with me when i showed up. they pointed me in every direction for you besides this room.” min acknowledged thoughtfully, sinking into the cushion’s behind him in defeat before leaning closer. “if it was the latter then shouldn’t you say hello to me?” one brow was quirked up at the end of his statement, evidently hinting at the kiss he had yet to receive.
to say the past few days had been insane would be an understatement. seungyoon still had to pull his strip of pictures from the photobooth when he woke up to remind himself that this was real life and not some very vivid dream. he had memorized things about minsu he didn’t even think he’d learn, entirely engrossed in the other boy’s person. he had half a mind to not just carelessly shove his laptop off his lap when min’s voice swam into his ears, instead closing it and setting it on the side table closest to him before turning towards the familiar sound. “hiding?” he questioned, eyebrows screwing together and a laugh escaping his lips as he threw an arm over the back of the couch. “i’d put money on everyone messing with you. have you met the people around here?” he said, chuckling. “but i’m definitely not sick of you. in fact, i missed you.” he cringed inwardly at how cheesy and clingy he sounded, but he wasn’t going to lie just to preserve his pride. yoonie let his arm drop from the back of the couch around min’s shoulders, putting the other on his thigh. kissing min was more familiar now, but it still made his insides feel like they were being torn apart viciously. he pressed his lips firmly against min’s, reaching his hand up to card his fingers through the fading silver locks. “hello,” he said as he pulled away, trying to mentally photograph min’s face.
